"The difference is," he said, lifting himself to sort of hover over her. "The Ministry isn't looking for you to do anything wrong. They'll be keeping their eye on me, and don't try to deny that. You know as well as I do that they will."
He smiled when she spoke then, and reached one hand out to lightly brush her cheek with the back of his hand. "Why do you say that?" he asked. "Would knowing me earlier have made any difference?"
