"Oh, guess that makes sense." Like the old movie his Mum had let him watch on the telly when he was little.
"Cause it take two for perspective? Read that somewhere."
Chris smiled. "Sorry, it shouldn't, but that makes me feel better knowing that even someone like you gets bossed around by his folks. Actually you made me feel lots better about it all. I'm going to do that, I think. Give the money to charity."
He should go soon, he didn't even need to talk to Ben anymore, but something still bothered him, something new this time.
"James. Thanks, and you can tell me I'm stupid cause I know you've got lots of friends and family and you don't need anyone other than them to talk to, or help you probably. But you helped me, and I don't want to be one of those people who just take stuff, advice or whatever, so if there's anything I can do to say thanks. Even if it's just sending you some biscuits or brownies or something, just say. Okay."
He smiled, not feeling quite as shy. "Nice to know I can come here now and then too. I like living alone but now and then gets a little lonely."
