"There's always been a them," Jennifer replied, taking up her coffee again and drinking from it.
"Were. Past tense. You weren't working for anyone in the strictest sense other than for yourself. Now you will be," she told him, holding the cup against her cheek.
Jennifer wasn't interested in arguing with Ronan about his idealism, which was ironic considering what sort of man he presented himself to be. With the Minister's Decree, he'd be no better than them. It was a shame - she had maybe started to like him.
"Well, you're right - everything is pretty much done here. So you can leave tonight even," Jennifer said with a sigh. "Unless you haven't yet made alternative arrangements, which I should suggest you do immediately. I won't be comfortable with a Ministry Auror living here."
