After receiving the owl earlier from her father, Minerva had apparated straight from Ollivander's after work to the Leaky to check in on her mother and brother. As soon as she knew they both were okay, she apparated home to Longbottom House and asked Toby to recheck with her all the spells and charms securing the house. Knowing that Jamie was probably busy, Minerva decided to owl him tomorrow to stop by if he could.
Her father would assure her that Longbottom House was secure, but Minerva wanted an Auror's opinion. Or, at least a friend who was training to be an Auror. Maybe Jamie's father could recheck Longbottom House too.
After eating her dinner, Minerva was enjoying a leisurely fag to calm her nerves and a big glass of wine when an owl she didn't recognize delivered a letter. She knew her father didn't like it when she smoked inside the house, but she figured today could be forgiven.
Carefully she allowed the owl inside, who gave her the parchment. Unrolling it, Minerva read the contents and then had to sit down. Her heart was pounding loudly in her ears and she almost had to put her head between her legs for fear of fainting.
Then she forced herself to look at the letter logically. If Voldemort wanted to attack her, he would just do so and not send cryptic letters. And the paw print...
Minerva sighed a big breath of relief, then laughed at herself. Atlas. Oh, the bugger.
The owl had flown away, but there was a small owlery in Longbottom House that Minerva went to with her own note back to Atlas - or she hoped it had been him.
Atlas - if this be you,
You gave me a turn, sending me a note like that. Unfortunately, after today's news I'm not inclined to make any night time visits. However, you are welcome to come by this evening. In fact, your company would be most appreciated.
