"I guess that's good in a way," he said with a grin. "And Dad, he is just a man. You don't have to convince me. I'm the one who bitched about having to read about him in a book. The people my age aren't the ones you'll have to worry about, but the ones your age and older. They are the ones with the 'greatest wizard, can't speak his name' ideas. He was dead before I was born. Couldn't be that great, yeah?"
James snorted, because the killing curse was suddenly a good thing. It reminded him of his grandmother's words that what was right was a subjective thing. "So now we can use the killing curse on more than werewolves. Keeps going like this, we might just make it legal."
That would give them some time, but if the man was smart, he'd find out and quickly. "But eventually you will, except he's still a teenager you said. He wouldn't go after me. It doesn't have the same impact, but I'll make sure that we're safe. I'll put more spells around the house. The flat isn't really safe, and we can't do much with all the Muggles around. Ben told me this morning that the house is done, just minor things are left. We can move there, even if we have to paint while we're live there. It'll be much safer."
He smiled when he mentioned his mother. Maybe they weren't together, but the divorce papers were still not filed, and if they lived together- he wasn't going to rely on that just yet.
