"You like flying too?" He laughed softly "No reason why you should want a pet, it's not like you don't spend all day taking care of people, helping them get better. You should get a break from that when you're off duty."
Rolling his neck he realized it was tight. He needed to start practicing Yoga again. He hadn't since he moved in. Come to think of it, he hadn't seen any neighbors either.
Ladeling a thin amount of sauce on the first round, he went to work layering the veg on top of that.
"Trouble is I'm not sure I know how yet. I know you're right, but I was brought up to try and make people happy and I get anxious if I think I'm not." But you couldn't make everyone happy, could you? That was impossible. Jake was right, the most you could do was not hurt anyone. Taking a few deep breaths and making himself calm down, he was pleased to hear his voice come out somewhat lower in pitch.
"You're right." He smiled shyly, looking up at Jake. "So if I followed your advice and did what I wanted to do right now, like tell you I think I'm attracted to you, that'd be a good start. Yeah?"
