Regulus nodded. "Yes, I know... not the part that they raised you, but that she was your cousin. It would have been extremely impolite to visually harass you while your wife was present. Since you share the same last night, I thought prudent to ask."
He tilted his head, smiling. "I suppose it'll depend on what kind of favour. After all, you can't call it a life debt since this is your job. However, I might be favourably disposed considering what you've done for me."
He waved a hand clearly dismissing the problem. While he would have to learn the events that had transpired in the past forty-three years, mores were less important. "Or the rest of the world shall have to get used to me being back. I am after all the only surviving member of the oldest family we have. People's customs are somewhat irrelevant to me."
Regulus didn't know if it was a way to avoid the obvious, or people really were so oblivious to the dangers. He'd have to figure that out. In the mean time, he smiled. "So is sleep, but if you'd rather drink horrid potions or smell like cucumbers, it is certainly your choice." He offered his hand to Jake. "It was a pleasure meeting you, Jake."
