When Frankie headed back upstairs, Hannah released a long breath of relief and looked at Neville - when then started in on her. It didn't help that he was half serious, half laughing.
"Ugh," Hannah moaned, pressing her palms to her forehead and looking up to the ceiling. "I know, I know! It was the best thing I could think of, instead of him just standing there staring at us like that," Hannah explained, chuckling in spite of herself.
"Oh gods, did you see his face? Oh no," she continued, then couldn't contain the small stream of giggles after. Frankie's face had been quite comical. Hannah put her hand over her mouth to contain the sound of laughing, lest her son hear.
She nodded and Neville was right. It did feel like years ago. "Yes, it does." Hannah then sighed, thinking about the situation.
"Nev...this is all just so unexpected I don't know what to say. Where do we go from this? I mean, yes of course we both love each other and that never changed but now? Can we...do this?"
