"I figured as much. I so wanted to come to the school. I've been so worried about Frankie...and you," Hannah murmured against Neville's shoulder. She didn't want to let go - didn't want him to let go. It was the first time in a week that she felt safe again.
"I knew Frankie was okay with you and Hermione and Oliver around, so I didn't press but gods Nev - I just wanted to go down there and snatch him away." Hannah pulled away, giving Neville a ruefull smile.
"He probably would have loved that, yeah?"
Hannah let Neville pull away, though her hands were still on his arms and he was close enough for her to see the strain and worry around his eyes. She reached up with one hand and cupped his cheek, running a thumb so delicately under one of his eyes where there was a dark shadow.
"Oh Nev, what's happening?" she asked, her voice barely a whisper. "I thought our family would be safe from this sort of thing." Hannah felt herself becoming emotional, and that was the last thing that Neville needed on his conscious. She shook her head, then leaned in and kissed him briefly on the side of his mouth.
