Dear Parents,
To ensure the safety of every child attending Hogwarts, the Board of Governors is enacting immediate measures.
Starting today, all classes will be held on the ground floor and the first floor. The only exceptions will be Herbology and Astronomy. Aurors will be stationed in both floors. To make this practical, all students will attend classes with all students of their year, regardless of House affiliation. During their free times, the students will be staying in the Great Hall where additional security is stationed. The students will allowed back to their dormitories only at night and they will be escorted there. No one will be allowed to move through the castle. All prefects round have been suspended. All Quidditch games have been postponed and Quidditch practice will be suspended for the next two weeks. Arrangements will be made with the Auror departmet and the Department of Mysteries to ensure that there will be protection during practice.
During this week, Floo connections similar to the ones at the Ministry will be installed in the Great Hall. Starting next week, students will attend school on a daily basis. They are to arrive no earlier than 8:30 am and will leave no later than 4:45. The only exceptions would be for Quidditch practices and the Astronomy class. Floo connections will be open in Muggle homes. Anyone who cannot travel daily should contact the Headmaster and the Board to make arrangements.
These measures are preventive, and hopefully of short duration.
If you have any concerns, do not hesitate to contact me.
