Summary: Arthur advises his son of Tonks' return
Status: Complete
So far the Prophet hadn't caught wind of what was going on at Hogwarts, other than knowing about Eddie Davies' death. The poor little bugger. Arthur had naturally heard of Tonks' return through the usual sources at the Ministry, but nothing made it concrete enough for him to believe until he and Molly had received the missive from Teddy. And Teddy wouldn't lie about something like that.
Arthur had known how close Charlie and Tonks were when they were very young, and always suspected that it was because of Tonks having chosen Remus over Charlie in the end that caused his son to remain a bachelor. Charlie never confirmed it - he was a proud and stubborn lad - but Arthur could only reason that it was because of Charlie having had his heart broken so long ago that his son never married. Never had children. And then with Fred and Tonks both dying in the Battle, it had put the nail in the proverbial coffin - keeping Charlie in Romania for as long as he could.
As Molly wrote back to Ted, Arthur penned a letter to his second-born son.
Charlie,
Your mother and I have received an owl from Ted Lupin. In the middle of the night on Friday, Nymphadora was found at Hogwarts Castle quite alive. I know this is very shocking news and we're all trying to digest it, but it seems that she has reappeared from no where. Returned from the dead, you might say.
Ted doesn't know much about the circumstances only that it has been confirmed that the woman is Tonks and his mother. I will try and find out what I can for you, including where she is being kept. Though I am not sure just when she will be allowed visitors.
I will keep you informed.
Love,
Dad
