Theo kept the frown off his face by mere will. He had wanted to find out the cause of the returnees, hardly have the responsibility for the school, though judging from Harry's reaction to the idea he did not like to give up power of his Aurors. Good, he could use that to his own benefit. He’d just have to be smart about it and he would still be able to focus on the areas he was interested in.
That however did not mean take needless risks. He would not take risks with his own career.
"Seeing how I’m apparently responsible for the security at the school as of now,” he spoke up. “I would agree that closing off the areas of the school that are needless is necessary unless we have enough Aurors to cover the entire school,” he said not caring if he interrupted anyone else or not.
“After all, we have a situation where anyone, dangerous or harmless, can turn up anywhere at the school, at any time. Already we have had one Death Eater return and kill a student, and two of the returnees have appeared in the common rooms where students are asleep at night.”
“I do understand the need for education but surely the school is not safe as it is today, especially if the Aurors are stretched too thin to truly protect it. The absolute safest bet would of course be to move classes and school activities from the castle entirely though I realise the difficulty of doing so. At the very least we should try to limit movements to a couple of the lower floors. Merge classes if necessary, limit student's movements between classes.”
“Impractical I know, but doubtlessly safer and the limitations of students' movements were done when we were students too. The year the Chambers of Secrets was opened teachers walked us between classes, the same system could be put in place again, only with classes on the same floors it would be fewer floors to cover."
"The sleeping arrangements too will have to be looked over, either by Auror presence in the dormitories, or if those kind of resources aren't available by dormitories being merged or students sleeping elsewhere."
He was very grateful both his children had left Hogwarts years ago.
