"Don't apologize. I like forward. I don't like it when people beat around the bush with me," Jake told the other wizard. "Maybe we'll run into each other at Eros then."
Jake actually laughed at Chris' confusion, then shook his head. Good gods, he really had an innocent on his hands. This was amusing. "Yeah, my shoes," he drawled, licking his lips. "Not exactly my choice but sometimes you have to do what you have to do," he informed Chris. "Unless you're offering to help me in that?"
He didn't think Chris would, however and Jake would grin further if the boy got more embarrassed.
"You're right, when I'm off work I generally don't like to talk about it. But you didn't know that, so I'll forgive you."
