Tonks looked up when she heard a sound strangely like a dog's toenails clicking against the stone floor. She craned her neck to try to see what was going on, but she couldn't, though it didn't matter for long. Suddenly there was a man standing there, looking like - well, Remus. Except not. There were bits of her in there as well, and she gaped at him, stunned.
For a long moment, she said nothing. This wasn't the green-haired baby she'd said goodbye to hours before, but at the same time, there was no mistaking who he was. Her insides felt like they'd turned into liquid, and she gripped the edge of the table tightly to keep herself from falling off, but mostly she just stared.
"Teddy?" she said, her voice not much steadier than his. "Merlin's tits, you're older than me."
