"You've never-" Marcus stopped, staring at Chris with disbelief. Good gods, he really did have an innocent on his hands. Marcus quelled the urge to run a hand down his face.
"Look, Chris. Blokes like me are dangerous people to be around. We run with dangerous crowds who have no issue in hurting little things like yourself. Don't get attached to me, because nothing will happen from it. I can understand why you might find me interesting, but you're too young."
Now that was off his chest, Marcus stood. "I'm not your friend and you don't want me as an enemy. But as long as you're in this club, I'll make sure no one messes with you."
On the dance floor, Marcus led Chris into the middle with a crowd of people and when the music changed all sorts of bodies began to bounce and jiggle to the new tempo.
