"You talk as if you've been in the same situation as the hit wizard," Jennifer said. "Is that why you were looking for work?" It was a question that she probably shouldn't have asked, but in comparison Ronan knew more about her than she of him.
She sliced into her steak, forcing herself to eat another bite. The moon would be full tomorrow and if she didn't eat tonight, then she would be that much weaker after her transformation. It had happened before that way, and it took her longer to recover.
"I was," she confirmed simply. Jennifer chewed her food then pushed around some broccoli on her plate. "I know to you that seems impossible, but its the truth. My father - he was very protective of me," she told Ronan, almost being defensive.
"He lost my mother when it happened. And then had to raise me. Like this."
