She told herself she was spending more time at the shop more than at home because she was trying to get it fit again to be a place of business, and not just some old building moldering into a pile of rubbish. Jennifer told herself also that it had nothing to do with Ronan's presence for he was just her employee and they barely talked to one another other than 'what goes where?' and grunts of confirmation from him and the like.
But there was something fascinating about the man. After all, he was like she was. Another of her kind. And instead of being harmful around her, like her father said the others would, Ronan was informative and sometimes even amusing. But, there were times he was ellusive and frustrating too.
It was nice to talk to someone, though.
The nights were getting colder and now that it was September, Jennifer had brought in some blankets for Ronan to use. Sure, there was a fireplace in the back and there were charms he could cast. But, he'd use the blankets maybe?
"How is it going back here?" she asked softly, coming into the back room with her arms full of blankets, sheets and an extra pillow.
