"Ginny always could hide things very well, love. You and I both know that," Arthur said softly. He had never forgotten how Ginny's life had been in danger her first year from hiding that bloody journal of Tom Riddle's. The idea still sent a shiver through him.
"You aren't anything of the sort, love and don't you dare start going on about how inattentive you are. Because that's the furthest thing from the truth. I'm sure Ginny and Harry tried their best but sometimes a marriage just doesn't work out."
Arthur had been trying to convince himself of it since Ginny told him what was going on, but it still bothered him. He couldn't help but think that maybe Ginny and Harry weren't trying hard enough, and thinking about it made Arthur feel guilty. How could he possibly judge what went on in their marriage?
"Besides, what could we have possibly done if we had known sooner?"
