I feel awful, awful about this, but I'm going to have to bow out early (though perhaps later than I should have). This is in no way related to the quality of the game itself; you guys are great, and I only wish that I had come sooner and been able to stay active. Thank you all for playing such great characters and making me feel so welcome!

Uh, hi. (Insert sheepish look here.) I've been severely AWOL the past weeks, with no good excuse other than being sucked into a new fandom and straying from my Harry Potter tried-and-trues. A thousand apologies to all my BNW lovelies. I just wanted to let you all know that I am indeed alive and well, and my kids are likewise... alive? In any case, they're as I left them, and they will hopefully go out with a bang rather than a whimper for the next, you know, three weeks. And if anybody would like to do some last-ditch threading or anything with any of mine before the game ends, please do hit me up!

OH HAI! THAR! PEEPLEZ! Bet you didn't even remember me! I am back! Thanks for all the well wishes on finals and papers and stuff. Haven't gotten my results back yet. But I think it was a mixed bag :/ Ahh, well. I appreciate the well wishes and stuff eitherway!
Matt has been .... partying! Did you believe that? No. He's been working. Really. That is pretty much it.
Sammie has been sulking. She wants to go home now please. Though she's been trying to be HAPPY for her friends and her cuz.
Tish has been not caring really. And doing what Tish does best. Mind her own damn business and comment when you're being stupid.
Dommi has been in Egypt! Curse-breaking! And is back for a visit and stuff. Okay. She's come to steal Max away and gush at the baby. The rest of you she doesn't care so much about :-P
Xander's been doing prefecty stuff. And hanging out with his best buds.
IS THAT EVERYONE? I THINK SO. FOR GIVE ME. I just woke up like a little over an hour ago and am STILL SLEEPY!

| In which Ada passes on the Slambook |

SO. Today at lunch, a Bird of Paradise will deliver a package wrapped in hot pink paper with the words "To my devoted fan, ♥, Ada Crumb" scrawled across the top of it. Inside is the Slambook, and there is no other note.
As to who gets it...? Well, the address is vague enough that if your character is a fan of Ada's (sorry Emily and Corrie and any Baron haters, not you ;p) and you want the Slambook, comment and it's yours! First come, first serve and all that. :) |

I meant to post this last night. Oops! But for those students who'd like to vote next week, there won't be a... my mind is blanking on the actual term, but there won't be a place set up for it at Hogwarts because there aren't a lot of students eligible to vote. However, there will be a place at Hogsmeade, and another at Diagon Alley. So those who are going to the healer shadowing week at St Mungo's will be able to vote in Diagon Alley, and everyone else will take a "field trip" to Hogsmeade with the remaining professors.
I think that makes sense, but it's morning, so... any questions, ask away! |

Hey guys! We've had a number of people leave lately (most recently Katie - er, the one that played James), and some dropping a character or two, so I've updated the friend-adder in case anyone wants to clean up their flists. The cast, PB, and contact lists are all updated, too.
And as always, if anyone has any plot ideas, just let me know! We're getting close to the end of what I've planned, and I never mind getting a little help. :)

So I'm adding to the apology posts regarding lack of activity. D: But I'm speedily approaching finals week so I have to tell you guys that it will probably continue until about the first week of May which is when I will be DONE and COMPLETELY free. :D Soooo I think the only thing I will be needing to make a point to pop in on is the Hufflepuff/Gryffindor match obviously. Other than that email me for mucho importante things because sadly I will be mostly hitting the books for the next few weeks. After that I will catch up though promise! |

Hey guys. I've been sucking again. I know. However, I really need to take a SEMI-hiatus. Because there is no way in this still spinning planet that even my bajilliontrillionmillion papers will keep me from seeing this game to the end. I enjoyed it since I came here, and I plan to enjoy it to the end. I'm stubborn like that. So yeah. This is why, I need people to poke me on where to comment and stuff. I'll be checking every weekend, but just in case I miss something ... Lemmie know!
And I know. My characters are missing giving out a few b-day presents (namely Sammie to Evie. Tish to Ellyn. And I believe Matt to Emily? [might be wrong on that count]). Don't worry. Those will got to and backdated before or on this weekend.
Now I'm off to drown in the world of papers and finals! |

Teddy's soapboxing prevented me from doing this at work! Pro Quidditch tryouts were today at one of the Quidditch pitches, let's say Bodmin.
From the plot points: Tryouts for the British Professional Quidditch League are held from 10am to 2pm. All applicants, whether invited to try out or not, will run through a number of drills on an individual and group basis, and will be paired and pitted against each other. Most of the League attends every year (many with their families), and are generally quite spirited in their commentary. All captains, coaches and managers will be there.
In General: It was a beautiful day, hooray! No bad weather to decrease visibility. The tryouts were free and open to the public, but everyone who came was searched at the door by hitwizards.
Most of the people trying out were older than the seventh-years, with one man of 70 as the oldest. This man (his name is Gary) has been trying out every year since he was 36, but has yet to make it into a team - even the Cannons. But he's good-natured and very popular with the captains and coaches. The youngest tryout was a 13-year-old girl who scowled fiercely in concentration the entire time.
The individual tryouts were held from 10-11:30am, then they broke for an hour lunch, because Quidditch is hungry work! Most people ate it picnic-style on the grass of the pitch. At 12:30 they started up again, this time with group tryouts by position for a half hour, then formed into teams for another half hour, then there was a free-for-all for the last thirty minutes.
Near the end of the free-for-all, however, one of the seekers thought they caught a glimpse of the wild snitch on the moor and went after it. Many of the players and some of the spectators followed in their excitement, and the hitwizards had a heck of a time rounding them all up again.
If you like, feel free to comment with how your character did or, if they were a spectator, what they were doing during the tryouts - there aren't a lot of played characters trying out, so this is just a "just in case". :) |

Hey guys. I just want to say sorry for being AWOL for the past few weeks. I was fairly busy in RL, but really I think I was kind of in an RP slump too. But I feel better now and ready to play again. :)
So, if you want to do anything with my kids or fill me in on things feel free to poke me!
Oh, and Corrie and Lily. Harriet wants some serious dirt on you. BE AFRAID. And expect some emails or IMs from moi. :) |

The British Cup was tonight, featuring the dirty, dirty Falmouth Falcons against the Wigtown Wanderers. The Wanderers were at a disadvantage from the start, being down by more than 300 points, and the Falcons did not give them much of a chance to close the gap.

So. We're going to try this game where Nathalie Is Actually Around. I know I disappeared off the face of the Earth. I am very sorry for this. I should have hiatus'd or something but I kept expecting to get Inspirtation and stuff. RL was doing this thing where it made me not want to play in roughly 89% of the games I'm in, with about 78% of my characters (real stats, yo :-P) and very horribly BNW got the Blehness this time around.
But I am back. Mostly. Hopefully? I want to do something with these young'uns before the Blehness comes back again. So you know. If you want something to do with Matt, Tish, Xander, Dommi, and Sammie. I will try my best to be on top of things this time around :-) |

Hufflepuffs and a few others may have noticed Corrie received an owl at breakfast today. When she opened it she turned very pale, then got up and left the great hall as fast as she could (but not very gracefully, she probably ran into at least one person), leaving her breakfast and bookbag behind her.
She wasn't at Charms (Frobisher was very displeased) or Potions (Scorpius was cheerful about not having to sit next to her for once), and neither was Lorcan. She'll show up again at lunch. So! If anyone wants, they could... take care of her books, wonder where she and Lorcan were, or let her bump into them in her attempt to inexplicably escape the great hall. Or, you know, stuff. :) |

In addition to the more serious plot with Emerson and neopurists and etc, silliness - this morning at breakfast, Corrie received a Howler. But when she opened it, there was no angry message from her parents or anything like that... instead, the Great Hall was filled with the unmistakable sound of a Quidditch match, with the announcer (probably saying something like, "And McCormack blocks another goal!"), general crowd noise, and Lorcan in particular cheering very loud. Corrie laughed through the whole thing.
Re: Emerson, he was removed from History of Magic class this morning by the investigators, and by lunchtime everyone at the school would definitely know about it. Gossip all you like! |

It's Wednesday, which means decisiontime.
And the decision, though I doubt it will come as a big surprise, is that we're going to keep BNW running until the end of the school year. :) It seems a lot of people would prefer that, and that it would be the best option.
And... I don't really know what else to say except thank you again for sticking with us, and also for your lovely comments in the last entry. You guys are really a pleasure to RP with, and I'm so glad you're enjoying the game enough to want to continue as long as possible.
So! The end date will be Saturday, June 19, which is the day of the 7th-year festival (a big party in Hogsmeade for the newly graduated) and the day after everyone else takes the train home from Hogwarts. So the first day of summer holidays, basically. (The first day of the rest of their lives? Cheesy! :) )
