This was definitely a pattern and it was getting them nowhere fast. Nothing she said about wanting to be with him too, comforted him. He thought it didn't matter. When she asked him, Seamus had a pained look on his face. He stroked the knuckles of one hand with the thumb of the other. "What?" Getting visibly upset his body language changed. He had seemed inviting just a moment ago and now he was defensive and pulling away. "What do you want?"
Looking at her from the corner of his eye, it would be clear to her that he was in a state of emotional pain. "Do you want to hear me say it out loud?" Seamus looked as though he had been hurt, there was an innocence behind his defensiveness that took them way back. "You're fucking Galen, aren't you?" He finally asked her the question he had been wanting to ask her since he first saw her weeks ago. "Thats why this," he motioned back and forth between them, "Can't happen."
