Status: Private, TBC
Rating: TBD

Galen had called the guys into the clubhouse for a short meeting. Their first package would be arriving in exactly a week and they needed to be prepared for the transport, first to the garage, the half way point, and then on to the small cabin that Quinn had found and purchased almost four months ago -- where the pieces of the weapons coming in would be assembled before delivery. There wasn't much to be discussed because they all knew their role in the movement of the guns but he didn't want anything to go wrong -- he wanted to make sure that their first drop off went off perfectly to set the standard. He knew that the could count on his brothers, and with Seamus back from Ireland (back from arranging this new drop off point) would make things run smoother -- he'd been worried that Seamus might not have been back in time since he had to stop in through Boston first, their father wanting to speak to him about what he'd seen and heard while on the other side of the Atlantic.

The gavel beat against the sounding block and the guys dispersed, Galen being the last to leave the room after sharing a word with Seamus about their contact on the ship coming in. It wasn't anything important, it was more character questions than anything else.

But, everyone went their separate ways in the clubhouse. Galen passed by Chessa, at the billiard table, and loosely wrapped an arm around her waste, "bring me a beer, sweetheart?" He asked with a charming smile on his lips before continuing over to the couch where Raleigh sat with Aiden. His shoulder fell against the support beam of the enclave where the couches were set up adjacent to the pool table. "Still haven't found a nanny you like yet? I thought you were seeing one today?"

Everyone could hear Chessa. It wasn't like she was trying to discrete talking shit about her sister while she was still in the room and it was starting to rub Seamus the wrong way. Although he had spent his early childhood with the girls he could hardly remember anything about Chessa other than the fact that she seemed to cry a lot. It seemed as though she hadn't grown out of it. Just like his brothers, Seamus didn't think that it was his place to say anything to her. They both seemed really bitter about having to be around each other and he didn't really get it, but he honestly didn't care enough to find out why. The shit talking was distasteful though, and Seamus made a clear look of annoyance and rolled his eyes before drowning himself in his beer.

He didn't know if it was because he was tired, or stressed out, or because he was sweet on Grace but he felt highly irritated by the conversation going on, on the other side of the room. He had zero intention on joining in on it.

"Na," he said while smiling at Grace. "You're good," he gestured to the keg, "It's all yours." He chuckled a little while she spilled the beer but didn't mean to embarrass her so he changed the object of his attention. Stealing a few glances at her Seamus tried his hardest not to be very obvious about the fact that he was checking her out. "So, everybody is worried about this kid and a new nanny... Im pretty sure they like him more than me."

She wasn't going to let her sister's shit talking bother her none. Francesca had been like that since she was a child, always passing any blame she could on Grace and then speaking negatively of her when it suited the situation. So far Grace had not interfered with Chess' life. It was just a left over hatred that the younger girl carried heavy in her heart that caused her to lash out. Honestly, Grace had hardly even seen her sister around since she arrived. They avoided each other because that was in everyone's best interest.

It wasn't that she was drunk, per sea, it was just that maybe Grace was feeling that last beer a more than she thought. It was for this reason that she rested her head on Seamus's shoulder and followed his line of vision while she licked the beer off her fingertips. "People are contractually obligated to find kids more likable than their parents only because they can still be molded exactly how you want 'em." She laughed and shook her head, "Everyone likes you just fine, Shay. You want them to find you a nanny too so you feel included?"

Despite what Grace might want to blame she was at fault for being bitter as well. Perhaps it was because she still resented her father and viewed her little sister as an extension of him, or maybe it was something else entirely. No matter the reason, neither of them would be good company if all they did was speak nonsense, and glare at each other. Seamus didn't like it. He and his brothers had always been such simple creatures. Got a problem? Fight it out, get the fuck over it and have a cold beer. Maybe that just wasn't a language women couldn't understand.

The head on his shoulder was welcomed. With his free hand Seamus wrapped his arm around her waste and held her to him. He leaned a little into her as she leaned on him. What came out of her mouth was unexpected, a little deeper than what most would say in such a situation. "I thought it was cause they were cuter. They're like little drunk people, only no one gets mad when they piss on your cat." Looking down at Grace he took another sip from his beer and then smiled at her while shaking his head. "I don't know about a nanny, but I'd definitely appreciate a little company. These motherfuckers," he motioned at his brothers with his beer, "get boring quick as fuck."

Oh she was to blame. Leaving her sister to only their mother's care during their father's funeral had been heartless of her. It wasn't fair of her to put her own needs in front of her sister's traumatic experience. But she had. And she felt terrible about it, but she couldn't go back and change it.

"Cuteness ain't got nothing to do with it. You're cute and yet you're over here with the beer and Aiden is over there being fawned over." She still wasn't looking away from the group. They flowed so easily together with a level of comfort that could only come from family. It made her jealous, just around the edges. But she had Shay plastered against her side and a cold beer in her hand. She wasn't going to complain.

"I don't know too much about boring, but I'll keep you company if you want. I'm not too much in demand these days." The arm that circled around his waist kept him close, her hand gripped lightly at the leather cut he wore over his shirt.

Even though Seamus loved his brothers and the bond he had with the guys in the MC he had always had a huge love for female company. He would probably attribute it to his close relationship with his mother but no matter the reason Seamus had always been very involved with the opposite sex. For however much Quinn didn't care for company Seamus craved it. He desired a constant stimulus, one which he had not be receiving lately. It's not like he hadn't gotten busy on his business trip to Ireland but that wasn't the same. He took the compliment and thoroughly enjoyed it. He let her finish speaking before he said anything. Looking down at her he raised his brows and gave a moments pause. "So you think I'm cute." Although the two them had been dropping hints left and right very little had been said out right.

It made him a little nervous knowing that she found him attractive, at least attractive enough to joke about it. "It's alright," he shrugged his shoulders, "You're kind of cute yourself." He could have smacked himself over the head if he'd had the chance. That was so smooth he was afraid he'd slip and fall into a puddle of "Captain Obvious" and "I've got no game".

Finishing off his cup Seamus detached himself from Grace for a moment. He needed a second to think about what he had done. Pouring himself another beer he thought to himself, I should put my stupid ass in time out for that shit. Shaking his head he forgot that he'd been pouring beer and the white foam spilled over the brim of his cup and dripped down the side and eventually landed on the floor. "Shit," he said in realization, taking his finger he cleaned off the side of the cup.

"Well yeah?" She grinned honestly up at him, "I thought that was kind of obvious." Now, while Grace fought against the kinda sorta feelings that she had for Seamus, she hadn't thought she was making that much of a secret out of it. It was true that every bit of her conscious brain told her not to get attached to this place, yet she couldn't help the way that she gravitated towards Shay. It was kind of scary. Despite all the factors that told her this was a bad idea, Grace couldn't help the way she looked up from under her lashes when he payed her the compliment and this time she did pinch his cheek.

The alcohol was making her loose lipped and a little slap-happy, but that was okay. She had Shay to lean on...but, but, but nope! He'd moved so fast Grace had to take a stutter step to make her legs accept the weight she been leaning on him. No! Come back! she wanted to whine, but thankfully did not. Maybe it was too much to say she thought he was attractive? He thought she was cute, but babies were cute, puppies were cute. Not women you wanted to be with. They were not cute, they were hot.

"No use crying over spilled beer." She said with a frown, looking mournfully back over to the group to hide the guilty expression on her face. But wait, she could fix this. Taking his hand she wiped his wet fingers off on to her shirt, which was still damp over her stomach from her own spilled beer. "No muss, no fuss." Grace knew this could only serve to make things worse if he still say her as a kid sister type, but her argument was that she was just trying to be helpful.

For the split second that he had to think a million things rushed through his mind. He definitely liked her, but he wasn't sure how much or in what kind of way. Maybe he should pay attention to the other conversation? That was safe. Nope. Her eyes they were so entrancing, the lashes that surrounded them were so full. And her smile was to die for. No. No. Aiden. Her waist to butt ration. The way she felt on his bike. Raleigh and Galen. Galen would be upset. They'd have it out if Seamus tried anything.

When Grace took his hand in hers all Seamus could do was watch. He was unbelievably distracted by her. It was as if he couldn't get away from her. Her energy was so strong. His lips remained slightly parted as she pressed his fingers against her stomach. He could feel the tight muscles beneath her shirt. Licking his lips Seamus blinked a few times and looked up at her before drying swallowing a fuck ton of air. "Right," was all he could muster. She was definitely nobodies kid sister anymore.

"Um," he furrowed his brows, staring at her. All of his cool went out the window. It was clear that she had a very intense affect on Seamus that made it difficult for him to think straight. "I think I'm gunna go outside for a smoke real quick." For a moment he debated whether or not he wanted her to join him and whether or not that would get them in trouble. "Wanna keep me company?"

Finally, finally! She could smell it on him; the attraction. It was sweet in the air and won out over the cigarette smoke and stale beer. This was good. This was not good. This was....? This was walking the tight rope between something that meant nothing now, but could mean everything later if Grace let it. Should she let it was the ultimate question. Should she risk becoming a cautionary tale, the kettle on the back of a Harley with her good friend the pot? Possibly.

It was a big risk for something that carried no guarantees nor held any promises. It was just bad timing. And timing was crucial.

"Sure." Grace nodded, figuring that some fresh air might do her some good. She sat her cup down on the table and exchanged it for a half empty bottle of Jack Daniels. "Out back?"

"Yeah," he said a little too eagerly. When she agree Seamus quickly looked past her at the group near the couch. They were busy chatting away about things that did not really concern him at the moment. He was in the clear. Shooting a quick head nod at which ever one of his brothers was looking he motioned over his shoulder that he'd be out back. Whether or not one of them saw him Seamus didn't really care. It's not like they would come looking for him.

Finishing the rest of his drink Seamus set his cup down and smirked at Grace. He couldn't help but enjoy the fact that she'd grabbed a bottle. This wasn't the Grace he remembered but this was definitely the Grace he wanted to get to know. Taking her by the hand Seamus was starting to forget anything about Galen. The alcohol had really put a damper on him remembering how much she had smelled like his brother the first day that he'd seen her. Taking her by the hand he led them out back.

Grace wordlessly followed swinging the bottle in the hand that wasn't tightly gripping Sesmus'. She didn't look back, didn't really have a need to. The air was surprising, it bit at the exposed skin of her legs and arms, but she didn’t mind too much. It felt good. The whiskey would warm her up anyway. Unscrewing the cap, Grace leaned against the wall of the building. Once the bottle was too her lips she took a long drink that burned all the way down to her toes. "Why Maine?" She asked after a moment, "Why leave Boston?"

It was a little out of left field, but Grace's train of thought was a little sporadic at the moment. It was something she didn't understand, couldn't wrap her mind around. Grace tilted her head back, leaning it against the wall as she took another gulp. "This place is the sticks compared to home-" Christ, she must be drunk. She never referred to Boston as home, mostly because it wasn't. "Here," she offered the bottle to Seamus, "Better take it before I start waxing poetic about Fenway. "

Wincing at the bright light as soon as it hit his eyes Seamus pulled out his sun glasses, which had been hanging by one leg from the collar of his shirt, and put them on. Luckily the sun was a good excuse to keep some of his face hidden. A little mysterious. His eyes were beginning to get glossy and he didn't exactly want her to be able to read him so easily.

The question was a little surprising. Seamus didn't have an answer ready for her and in the state he was in, it was going to take him a moment to get one out of him. Pulling out his carton of cigarettes from the front pocket of his shirt he quickly found something to keep his mouth busy. Taking a moment to think Seamus lit the end of his cigarette and took a long hard pull, filling his lungs with smoke to the brim. Seamus often liked to chain smoke when he drank, that was part of the reason why he couldn't sing much anymore. Letting out a thick cloud of smoke, which lingered in front of his face for a long moment, he waited to give her a straight answer.

"Boss man's orders." Galen really wasn't what Seamus wanted to be talking about at the moment, it was a bit of a downer to think about him. Biting his bottom lip Seamus just shook his head at what she had to say. He'd lived in a few different places already and he didn't find any of them particularly interesting. Shrugging his shoulders heavily Seamus dragged the thumb of the hand that held his cigarette across his lip and took a deep breath.

Grabbing the bottle when she offered it Seamus placed his cigarette between his lips and held out the carton to her. He didn't know if she smoked but if she did he would share. Removing the cancer stick from between his lips after a quick puff he held it between the fingers which gripped the neck of the bottle. Taking a swig of the Jack he walked over to a small bench that sat pressed up against the wall and plopped himself down on it.

Grace shrugged, "He does seem to like his way." She didn't know Galen too well from way back when, but he seemed to be a true alpha in the way he ran the pack. Which was a good thing. Alphas needed to be steadfast and sure of themselves to allow the pack to thrive. Grace waved off the offed cigarette, she didn't smoke. Thought it wasn't like it would kill them, just didn't care for the taste. The lingering whiskey that coated her tongue and lips when she licked them was a different story. That was something she enjoyed.

"Doesn't matter, does it? It's nice here. I like it." She sat next to him on the bench. Close enough that their knees brushed but not too close to become a deceleration. "I thought I would hate it and that Chess would try to make me miserable to get me to leave. But then, Galen let me help out here and-" She shook her head, "Aiden and you kinda make me want to stick around."

It was with less and less intensity that she missed her pack back home. It was hardly noticeable unless she thought really hard about it. "But I know I can't. Chess is never going to stop hating me because of Frank."

The conversation turned on him really quickly. Seamus wanted to go out back to be away from everyone's watchful eyes but now that they were alone Galen continued to be a topic of conversation. He was getting upset. Grinding his teeth together Seamus breathed through his nose as she spoke about Chessa and his brother, but then she said that he and Aiden had something to do with her wanting to stick around. This girl was a walking contradiction. On one hand she'd just mentioned how much of an alpha he really was and on the other she was talking about Seamus' son.

The pounding in his ears subsided for a moment. Was she leading him on? He was so confused. Perhaps he was picking up signs that she really wasn't putting down. It didn't matter though when the tone in her voice changed. Leaning forward Seamus wanted to get a good look at her face. She was clearly about to get upset.

"Fuck me," he said after she mentioned her father. They had never really spoken about it and he did know Frank even if he was just a distant memory. Throwing an arm over her shoulders Seamus gave up on being angry and pulled her in close. "She has to." Rubbing her shoulder with his thumb Seamus tried to comfort her.

"Hey," he was about to try to change the topic of conversation towards something a little happier. "Look at it this way, you guys are starting new lives here. You'll both probably settle down and start having your own little pups soon." Even though he didn't want to really think about he thought that maybe that was what she wanted. Galen was going to have many children and she was going to get an entirely new family.

The somewhat downtrodden expression Grace had been wearing melted away with the presence of Seamus' arm around her. The smile she sported didn't reach her eyes but she plastered one on regardless. This wasn't a pity party, she didn't need or want comfort or sympathy. "Doesn't matter." She shrugged, "That's on her." Grace wasn't going to allow her sisters feeling to dictate her idea of self worth.

His body was sun-warmed next to her and it felt nice. But something that he said caught her off guard. Her brow furrowed, creases appearing between her eyebrows where they started to knit together. You guys ate starting a new life here. She and Chessa? Did Shay think her move was permanent? That she would settle down with someone from the club? Maybe the thought had crossed her mind, but she was pretty sure with a son to take into consideration, the only club member she would even think about considering wouldn't be interested in that.

Grace didn't have the heart to tell him that she wasn't staying, that there wasn't a new family to be had here. She had a family already and the MC was not going to be a part of it. That was a conversation for a time when she wasn't pleasantly on her way to drunk. "Yeah." she was nonchalant when she looked away from his face, "Maybe."
