Home Sweet Home
Date: June 7, 2012
Time: 2PM
Location: Main Street
Characters: Ruby Nightentail, Open to all \o/
Description: Ruby is finally adopted and dumped into Crescent Cove hating it already. She decided to take a stroll around her new home hoping her brother will be brought here as well soon. In the meantime Ruby has been window shopping in the small malls running into people on the way….
Status: Public, in progress

Ruby has been left as an orphan along with her twin brother at the age of 14 and two years later they both have finally been adopted by a couple who lives in Crescent Cove. Ruby was able to travel home right away with her adoptive parents but her brother Evo was left behind as they finalized some paperwork. Ruby was missing her brother, it was the only thing she had left from her pack from her real home in Illinois but that life was behind her now. Now it was just her and her brother, whenever he finally was able to move here too, and she had taken role of the alpha between the two of them. While she was here Ruby decided to take a look around what will be her new home. So far she wasn’t liking anything but Ruby didn’t like new places, she wanted to be back home with her family.

Ruby had spent most of her morning looking around the mall that could be found on the Main Street. There was many outfits she would love to have and if her parents were still alive they would have bought them for her in a heartbeat. She was the spoiled one in the family but since her parents murder everything changed however Ruby didn’t. She still felt like she deserved everything she wanted. Ruby had stolen some money from her new mom and was browsing around for a new shirt however nothing seemed to catch her eye. She was picky when it came to almost everything. After what seemed like hours, Ruby decided it was time to grab some food so she found the first restaurant that she could find, which happened to be the golden arches that everyone was familiar with. At least she’d but the cash she stolen to good use.

Ruby ordered some French fries and a burger and found a seat outside of the fast food restaurant as she people watched, silently making fun of anyone in her head that seemed odd or beneath her. Judging others always made her feel a little better. Ruby just wished she was back at home, there she would have a group of close friends with her instead of sitting alone. She didn’t like having her pack; it was one thing Ruby couldn’t get used to. She gave out a little sigh as she continued munching on her fries.

Jasper had quite a long day before, and needed some downtime away from witches, demons, vampires, and the like. He just wanted a calm day of retail therapy. Sarah, had taken a trip somewhere, according to the note she left him. He had thought it was pretty rude for her to just disappear like she did, but she was flaky at times, and he was rather used to it. He parked the motorhome that he had traded their new car for. She would be pissed when she got back, but frankly he didn't care. Well, he didn't care as much as he should. He entered the food court and walked through the groups of people as he looked for something to eat. He wasn't a picky eater, but he preferred a nice place to sit down and eat. Jasper scanned the food selections. "City Wok, City Sushi..." He read out loud to himself. How successful could a sushi place do in the mall? He shook his head as he continued down the line of small fast food joints. "Guess it is burger and fries."

He walked to the end of the line, and waited his turn, which thankfully didn't take long. "Yeah, I would like a burger, fries, and a beer." He smiled as she rang his items up, and asked how he wanted his burger. "Medium, and I want all the shit on it." She looked at him with disapproval. "I'm sure you mean that you'd like all the 'fixins'." She obviously wasn't one he would want to encounter more than once. Jasper rolled his eyes and moved down to the pickup area, and waited patiently for his burger, which arrived a few minutes later. He picked up the bag and waved at the lady with overly large gestures. He picked a seat and sat down two tables away from a teen with blonde hair. "Excuse me, but could I borrow your salt and pepper shakers? It seems like someone has made of with mine." He asked, as politely as he could, aggravated though that they hadn't salted and peppered the meat when they cooked it.

Ruby was half way through her fries when someone walked up to her and caught her attention away from the people entering and exiting the burger place. It was an older man with light brown hair asking for some salt and pepper. Ruby replied back with a smile and a little laugh saying sure and reaches for their containers handing them to him. She watched as he took his seat a few tables away and decided that since he was alone she might as well join him. It was about time she met someone else in this place, she couldn’t keep to herself forever. Also she hated being by herself when she went out to eat. It made her feel like one of those loners she seen all of the time. She didn’t want people thinking the same thing of her. Also maybe he knew of some fun places here in Crescent Cove if he was one of the locals here. Ruby picked up her burger and fries and made her way over to his table.

“Do you mind if I join you?” Ruby asked flashing another smile towards him, trying to be polite, something she didn’t usually do. When he gave her the okay, Ruby took a seat across from him and then munched on another fry. “I’m Ruby Nightentail. I just moved here a few days ago from Illinois. I just started some sightseeing.” As far as she got was the malls and there was nothing she liked so far. Maybe Crescent Cove would grow on her later, but for now she wasn’t impressed by what she had seen.

"Sure sure sure. Come on over." He said with a smile as he made room for her to put her stuff. He wasn't opposed to company, and after Sarah had left, he'd become quite lonely. She tempered out his quirkiness and his excitement. Not that she was a downer, but she was the Superego of the relationship, while he was the Id. In reality she was probably more like the Ego, but his Id forced her to be the Superego. She was gone, so there was nobody to stop him from going overboard, and nobody to remind him exactly how foul his mouth is.

"Very nice to meet you, Ruby Nightentail." He said as he held out a strong hand to shake. "I'm Jasper Clark, and I'm pleased to meet you. Well, welcome to Crescent Cove, there are lots of things to see and do. If you are into history and all that shit." He said with a large smile, before he shoved burger into his trap.

Ruby shook the man’s hand back glad for someone to talk to. He didn’t seem so bad at the moment. When he brought up about history Ruby gave him a displeased look. History was not something she enjoyed, or anything that made her think of school. History classes in high school were enough to bore her to death and if the entire town was one of those history proud cities then Ruby knew for sure she was going to hate it here.

“So basically there’s nothing fun to do here.” Ruby made out to be more of a statement then a question. She gave a little sigh as she played around with her French Fries. She really wanted to leave this place. Ruby was going to have to live here, for at least another two years before she was old enough to be on her own, so she thought she might as well try to find something that didn’t seem so boring.

“So other then all that history junk what is there to do for fun around here?” Ruby asked him hoping he wasn’t going to say nothing, or worse think of something even more boring than history. She wanted something a sixteen year old girl would find fun and exciting. Maybe even attend a few cubs or anything that didn’t require her walking around and looking at plaques that described something historical that she could care less about.

His shoulders heaved with his loud laughter. "Well, maybe not!" He said with a smile. "But then again, this town has some weird history. You might actually like it though. "There is a bunch of other shit too. Like a mall, and I know there are supposed to be some really amazing coffee shops and whatnot. Not that I've had a lot of time to visit them." He said with a frown. "The Bureau keeps me pretty busy."

He would have told her about the bars and clubs, but she didn't look old enough to get into any of them, so he didn't even bother to mention them. He stuffed his face some more and swallowed roughly. "So, what kind of things to do you find fun?" He asked curiously. "I find beer tremendously fun, so bars are where I am a lot, but you probably aren't old enough to get into one." He said with a frown.

The mention of a weird history did catch Ruby’s attention. Where there were folklore and tales of spooky creatures there might be some truth somewhere hidden in the stories. If it was anywhere like her home town there was stories of scary dogs roaming the woods, those stories were all about her pack and their ancestors. Maybe Crescent Cove was the same way but Ruby would find out about those later. For now she was going to find something her 16 year old girl would love to do or maybe even meet new friends.

“I have looked around a few stores but I’d have to get a job first before I go on a shopping spree.” Ruby gave a weak laugh. She highly doubted her adoptive parents would just have her some cash and let her run off with it. As for the coffee shops the one she loved the most was Starbucks.

“Yea, I am only 16.” Ruby said with a slight frown however at his mention of finding beer fun Ruby thought that maybe this was a guy she could grow to like. “I do like going to parties. You know the fun ones where kids’ parents leave them for the weekend home alone. Filled with board games and drinking Kool Aid” Ruby laughed at her own joke. She thought back to some parties she had in Illinois. Her brother Evo always tried to make sure she’d never go to them, especially since Ruby was almost caught underage drinking at one of the parties. They were a thrill and when the cops come looking just makes the parties even more exciting.
