She was there unexpectedly Date: 12 December 2010 Time: 3:30 Location: The Shack Characters: Eva Larson, Lux Warren Description: Unexpected Meetings Status: Private, Complete.
Eva’s hands were without gloves, she liked the feel of the worn leather beneath her palms, the stiff frayed edges irritating her fingertips. Her position on the sofa was of relaxation, her hands resting at either side of her, head tilted back. Blonde curls spilled down from a knitted cap, resting on her shoulders, some of the strands caught in the scarf around her neck.
Eyelids covered blue grey eyes as she breathed in and out slowly, feeling the stress of the day slowly seep out of her. She came here often. They no longer all met here as they once did, but Eva always felt drawn back. It was a place of comfort, of days and nights away from her parents and the silent house she had lived in with them. She had her own place now, and it was small and cozy and filled with color and light. But she never forgot this place.
She opened her eyes, let out a breath that sent mist into the frigid air and tilting her head forward, looked to the notebook sitting beside her on the couch. She didn’t really want to start writing on the story. It wasn’t something that particularly interested her. Her thoughts shifted from the job she had to do rather than the one she wanted to. She wondered if Old Man Petersen would let her interview him. An old veteran of World War II she was sure he’d have something interesting to say.
That’s what Eva liked to do.. collect stories and histories of the people in the town she loved. Not writing on the small business was that going under and having a liquidation sale. She glared at the offending notebook, and pushed it away from her a little further.
