Can't really deny that, I guess. He thought this to himself at her mention of him being dangerous before... and probably still dangerous. It wasn't easy to change that kind of lifestyle. Ross had pretty much spent his whole life being that way - defensive, angry, with no concern for the repercussions of his actions. He started fights in school, if anyone made fun of his sister, or him, or made a comment about their parents. He wasn't sure why he had ever defended them, but he had regardless. It was a strange life, back then, and it had only gotten stranger as he grew to become a so called 'head gang member.' Let's not forget prime drug dealer.
"I didn't take you as a dog person. I love dogs." He'd never really had one before, no money when he was younger and no time when he was older, but he never had minded them before. If he ever had a friend (which, to be fair, wasn't frequent or long lasting) and they had a dog, he thoroughly enjoyed playing with it. But aside from that, his animal interactions were pretty nonexistent. "I wont break into your house again. Scouts honor." His cigarettes changed hands so he could do the scouts-honor move with his right hand. Authentic. Kind of.
He noticed her eying the cigarette and then looking away. He took another long drag, trying to finish it quicker. He was in a better mood, that was for sure. He shouldn't be, really. He had no right to be happy, and she had no right to stand there and act like it had hurt her more than him. Everything was confused, a total and complete mind fuck. But her face... Well, it made him smile. He couldn't help that. He had never been able to help that. It was why he had taken such an interest in her in the first place.
Ah, now the real questions were coming. His face fell again and he went back to being a little more defensive. "I have my ways. You weren't hard to find. A couple people I knew watched the police station, waited for someone to address you by name. The internet did it's thing, and I had someone hack into the police's files to find out where they transferred you to. You really should have gone into Witness Protection or something if you didn't want to be found." He had a lot of time on his hands to track her down. Determination, money, and the right kind of people could get you anything.
"Are you mad that I found you? I'll disappear if you want. I have my answers."
