This is what happens when love meets destruction...
Date: 10/3
Time: 9:45 PM
Location: Park
Characters: Beau Davis and Rhiannon Montgomery
Description: Is it a date? Is it not a date?
Status: Private, complete

She made him stand at a distance. That scowly soldier there to guard her. To keep her safe. Both Sires mentioned war; they mentioned danger. And she was in danger, too, from the way in which they spoke. And per Liam, she was their weakness. It was those reasons, and those reasons alone, that she'd agreed to have the man following her despite the urge to sneak away from him.

Having sent a text to both Liam and Valerian to share her whereabouts (just as she promised), she sat in wait at the bench where they'd met the last time. A large portion of that evening was but a haze, but she did remember sitting here with him. Her lips pressed together, her chin resting on her bent knees. Dress pooling around her, she looked not unlike a doll surrounded by flowers.

Was it a date? Was it not a date? Would he even show up?

Rhiannon's heart pounded in her chest, her thoughts drifting to the last time that she saw him. Her cheeks flushed. It wasn't until she heard the scowly man clearing his throat in a hint for them to go that she blinked up at him, a middle finger outstretching. Unfortunately, she had agreed to follow his command, and it was with a heavy sigh that Rhiannon turned to follow the asshat back towards their car.

Darkness the best friend and worst enemy to a Hunter. Unlike the supernaturals who could not follow rules, Hunters could not see in the dark without special gear, but Beau had a step up on that. His Sight allowed the darkness not to matter in finding supernaturals, only the obstacles that may keep him from getting to them and keeping the public safe.

Watching the guard watch Rhiannon, from a distance, he kept himself calm so his heartbeat was slow and may not be as noticeable. He wanted to sneak up on her, but with the bodyguard he had to figure out how to do that. When the other vampire pulled her away from the park bench, a mischievous smirk graced his lips. Luckily other people were walking the park, so his heartbeat would not be out of place.

Light grey-blue eyes stayed on them waiting until they were past his hiding space on the way to their car. In an instant, he jumped out behind them. "Bang." He announced playfully. The guard turned with an unamused look on his face and his fangs bared.

Disappointment made the already unskilled vampire even less so. And with the big strong happy fellow watching her, she hadn't even bothered to allow herself her usual paranoia.

It wasn't until she heard the sound of a voice that she realized she might have made a mistake.

Wide-eyed and her heart pounding, the girl twirled on her toes. It was then that his scent caught her and fear shifted to something much, much different. She was nothing but a streak of rainbow whisking past the large man. Arms outstretched, she found their way around her hunter's neck, her tiny frame dangling off his. "Oh, I was so worried!" The words were expressed against his chest, her cheek nuzzling the musculature of his torso.

Her memories had changed, but there was residual feelings of guilt and sadness whenever she thought about that night though she could never quite put her finger on it. And seeing him up and moving around, and teasing filled her with relief. "I am vanquished!" she chirped, sliding down his body until her toes connected with the ground once more. "Do as you wish with your spoils of victory!"

The guard was not pleased, but did not attack as Rhiannon had moved first. Beau laughed, wrapping his hands around her naturally. If his commander was there he would have smacked Beau upside the head. Looking down into her eyes, a strange feeling fluttered across his mind, like something he could not quite remember that happened between them, something not good, but he pushed it back.

"I told you I could sneak up on you. It was the guard I was more worried about." Beau smiled, with a glance given to the guard. He wasn't too worried about the guard, he was a Hunter after all and even with a calm meeting carried his weapons on him. "I'm not sure my spoils of victory are exactly mine. Your sires wouldn't like it if I carried you back to my house." There was no innuendo meant in his statement, though some might have taken it wrong given he had a cute little vampire in front of him.

"But sometime soon, I would like to thank them for their help with my wounds that night. Even though my cousins could have handled it, I still do appreciate that they bothered to fix up someone they didn't know." He shrugged. "Even after I was rude."

Pushing her hair out of her face, he shook his head. "You and your family is not what I expected in my life."

Rhiannon ignored her watcher. He was there, pretending to be intimidating, but that meant nothing to her. He wouldn't dare hurt the one that Val and Liam's progeny was clinging so closely to. Especially not after they'd gone to the trouble of saving his life.

His arms felt warm, and comfortable. Her cheeks tinted immediately. "Only because I was upset thinking you decided you didn't want to see me!" she protested, poking him lightly in the ribs. "And I like to think that I have a say in who takes me home," she added, finally taking a step back. Happy's teeth clacked together, and Rhi rolled her eyes.

"They'd be glad to hear that, I just know it." Sighing softly, she reached for his hand, lacing her fingers through his. A little presumptive, perhaps, but she just couldn't help herself. "And I'm just glad that my hero is safe. And that he decided to show up."

Her cheek nuzzled against his touch, a small smile forming on her full lips. "No part of my life has been what I expected, but I'm finding this part of my life very lucky." It was Happy's turn to roll his eyes.

Beau looked over at her guard. "You would like to think that but I think your sires have a different idea." After growing up with an abusive, drunk father and being with gangs, Beau had found a true respect for others during his Navy training, and no one could guess his past with how straight laced he acted now.

"I hope so." Beau let her take his hand. He looked down as she did so with a soft, but controlled smile. There was still an argument that happened in his head every time he was around her. He liked her, he could admit that to himself, but his sense of duty changed how he felt he should act towards her. He had to make sure her kind along with other supernaturals were kept in line to the rules of the world and humans were safe.

Beau let his hand drop back to his side, wrapping his hands together behind his back. "So, am I allowed to escort you home or does it have to be your silent guardian?" He teased.

"Maybe...but I think a temporary theft of the princess might be okay. Maybe." She had every right to have a little fun herself, after all. Even with all the goings on. Which reminded her...

"Quite a bit has changed since we spoke last," she murmured, her voice dropping so that prying ears couldn't listen in. She even waved her hand in his direction to shoo the guard away. "There's a new King of the Vamps...and you kinda know him..."

Cerulean peered down as his hand fell away, her bottom lip rolled out in a faint pout. "We can walk that way, if you'd like?" Though she would be walking very slowly...to make it last longer.

"King of the vampires?" He questioned, with a laugh. He had heard there was a hierarchy with royalty amongst vampires, but as far as he had known there was a female at the top in Crescent Cove, not a male. "Please tell me it isn't Liam, I think he hates me." Levi truly believed Liam hated him, how he looked at him while he was at their house said it all, and for some reason that look was the clearest memory he had from that night. Even still, Levi had made the comment in good humour.

"Though I'm pretty sure that you saw yourself as the princess even before that." He winked.

The night was beautiful around them. Stars sparkled in the clear sky and the moon a mere slit amongst them. The park had lamps to try and fight back the darkness, but failed to make much more than amber pools on the walking path. As they walked at a slow pace, the guard kept his distance behind them. It made the whole 'royal' thing a bit literal in presence. Beau tried to keep his hands to himself, even if she pouted over it. He wanted to be known as respectful.

"So you haven't been chewing on anyone right?" He smirked. "I might have to follow you like your guard there." Unconsciously he rubbed at his wrist where the lost memory of her biting him still echoed in his cells.

Rhiannon nodded her head. Her aura flickered with energy, happy and vibrant just as she always tried to be. It was easy enough for her to feel at ease around him, especially now that she knew he was healed properly - and that he was still capable of smiling at her. "Liam hates everyone," she pointed out with a laugh, though she also shook her head in response. "It's Valerian. There is a civil war coming. So, please be careful and don't get caught in the middle of things, okay?" I would break her spirits to know that her hunter was hurt.

She was just a little attached.

Slender shoulders shrugged, another giggling bubbling up. "I'll never deny it! Though this'll be the first time that I've had a real, official, tiara! And the title." Daddy's little girl from the moment that she was born, there was no doubt that she was spoiled, no matter how little money they had.

Dainty feet moving much more quickly than his larger ones, their stride remained relaxed, almost lazy, in the beautiful night. And after being so cooped up, it felt wonderful. "I've been a very good girl, I promise!" she chirped, her arms swinging at her sides. "People don't smell good by comparison..." Levi, however, smelled delicious. Her fangs elongated in her mouth, in her subconscious remembrance of his taste, but she made no steps to take another. "But, if I lied and said that I had been, does that mean I'll be seeing you more often?"

Her priorities were definitely in order...

Beau shrugged, eyes squinting as he smirked. "My job tends to put me in the middle of things if there is a chance that humans might get hurt." Civil wars were unfortunately not very civil and never only included the single party fighting amongst itself. Causalities were the price of war.

He stopped in their path and turned to look at the smaller brightly coloured girl, her vampiric aura swirling around her. Any other vampire and it would be hard to get past. He didn't get colours per say like what auras were described as, but saw an overlay of the creature underneath. The only ones that had auras were witches as they were human otherwise.

Tilting his head to the side, he pressed his lips together. "I have to keep people safe, so yes. It would mean that I would have to watch you carefully." Blue eyes looked into blue eyes. Levi ran his thumb over her jawline to her lips. He knew he was an idiot. He knew the teeth that lay under her plump lips. He could see the beast within. But she was hard to resist.

"This is different," she replied, her tongue peeking out through her teeth in a grin. "There's this princess, you see. And she's a new princess, doesn't know a whole lot. But she does know that she is very fond of her hunter, and would be crushed if something bad happened to him because of her family." It was all very Shakespearean, really. She couldn't help but be amused by the fact that Valerian would have appreciated the dramatics of the situation, even if he didn't appreciate her Levi.

She shouldn't be as she was with him, and she knew it. He was human, a hunter and she was a terrible excuse for a baby vampire because her lips were wanting to do something much different than what they should have wanted to be doing. Full lips parted at his touch, the tips of her fangs visible. But Rhiannon didn't move to bite him. She no longer felt that frenzy building inside, and instead focused on the static that his touch trailed over her skin. Her eyes said just as much.

Instead, her fingers curled lightly around his wrist, her head tipping. Slow and deliberate, she pursed that mouth, placing a kiss to his wrist, right over the bite that had been forgotten by both of them. "I can't lie about it...even if it meant that I would see more of you. I couldn't bear for you to think poorly of me."

Fangs did not frighten the Navy SEAL off. He knew what she was and he really wanted to believe that she wouldn't hurt him. When she kissed his wrist, though, instinctively he gasped and his body froze with a memory that no longer existed in place he could ever access it. Levi looked away, letting out an embarrassed laugh.

When he looked back at her, Levi shook his head. "Do not tell my commanding officer this, but... I'm not sure I could ever think poorly of you." He removed his wrist from her hand with a soft smile. "And you are already the worst choice I could have possibly made, but not because it's you, but because of my position."

With an exaggerated sigh, a flurry of emotions passed through his eyes. "Why are you even interested in me? My people... are not your friends... we are here to kill any that step out of line. We come from Hunters that would just kill you out right." Blue eyes glanced away once more as he pushed and folded his lips around his teeth in thought. "And I can't even think of anything with those big eyes and pouty lips looking up at me."

She smiled against his wrist, her her own lips pursing to blow cool air on the lip print before releasing him. She smelled so nice, but he tasted even better.

"That makes me happy," she murmured, her voice just loud enough for him to hear. She could feel the vampire's eyes on her, his presence a nuisance in her quiet, though heavy, moment. But it was the Guardian and his own cerulean stare that held her full attention. "Had Valerian not found me, and had you not been in your position, we never would have met. So, I am glad that you are what you are and that I am what I am. Because it means we are having this conversation."

Pausing in thought, her hand fell to her side. After a pregnant moment of silence, her head shook. "Vampire or human, sight or no sight, I would be attracted to you. The details don't matter -- not to me." Rhiannon was stubborn, just like her mother, and she would always follow her heart over her head. "Then don't think. It's overrated, anyway. Besides, these big eyes and pouty lips don't give just anyone this kind of attention..." Slowly, she reached out and tugged on his jacket, a crooked smile playing on her lips. "You should take full advantage of that."

What should have been a cute, if not stimulating, action, did not come off that way to the instincts of the Guardian. Her lips near his wrist had made him nervous and his heart rate spiked for a moment, but not in a good way. "Have you not tried to attack that woman outside of the grocery store." He added with a wink.

Beau sighed, playfully smiling and shaking his head. "I am not going to take advantage with your body guard not too far away." Beau tilted her head down and kissed her forehead. "I have duties that I must always keep in mind, Rainbow Brite. Maybe if we could meet while you did not have to be watched by anyone but me. But I respect your sire too much to stop thinking."

Running his hand over her cheek, Beau wanted to kiss her so badly. She made it hard not to want to. His phone buzzed in his pocket. Leaning down to her ear, he whispered. "Maybe next time I will take the offer to give those lips attention."

Stepping back, he pulled his phone out to read the message. "I'm sorry Rainbow Brite. I have to get going. Feel free to message me whenever." He took her hand and kiss her knuckles. "Bye," he nodded to her and to the guard, making sure the other man understood that he held no ill will toward him.

His heart raced, for a different reason than her own. She could smell him, taste him in her mouth from the sense memory. But the hunger wasn't from a lack of nourishment; she was attracted to this man, and it was new -- it was exciting. "You make it very hard for me to feel guilty for that..." the mumbled, her cheeks tinting a rosy hue.

Glancing to the man staring at them, so big and burly, she simply rolled her eyes at his scowl. "He's probably forgotten what a girl's interest looks like -- with a scowl like that." Really, it wasn't very tasteful. But, that was what Valerian paid him for. The kiss to her forehead brought a quiet squeak, soft and gentle like a chipmunk, and her hand tightened on his jacket.

Almost getting lost in the moment, reality cut through with the buzzing of a phone.

"They'd like that..." she murmured, the heat from her words tickling at his neck. His scent filled her lungs, enough to drive her crazy and stunning her into stillness. Afraid that if she moved it would make his sentiment disappear, she blinked up at him as he took a step back.

Nodding in understanding, she was far too pleased that she'd seem it all to care that it was a short while. And they always had their electronic connection. Her breathe somehow managed to get lost in her throat just as those lips grazed her knuckles. "Yea..." forced out with a nod.

It wasn't until he's disappeared and Happy came up to her side that she moved. "I saw you checkin' out his butt," she teased, glancing up at the man who stared down at her as if she'd grown a second head. "Can't blame you one little bit...but he's not for yo~u." It was with a loud squeal of glee that she popped her guard merrily against his stomach with the back of her hand and skipped back towards their car.

After a long moment of disbelief, he followed.
