I couldn't live life like you could, I'm still the one misunderstood...
Date: 7/17/13
Time: 10: 45 PM
Location: Main Street; Inner City
Characters: Rhiannon Montgomery, Beau Davis
Description: Trouble in the form of a tall, dark, and sexy. Oh, look! A gun!
Status: Private, Complete.

It was such a beautiful evening, and though she might get yelled at upon her return to the house, it was worth it. Of course she had understood the reason for the escort; she was still a baby vampire, after all, and blood smelled so good. But she'd at least made an effort to drink like an overweight sailor before slipping out into the garden.

The pencils she'd had were fine, she supposed, but they weren't special. And the notebook she'd found had been lacking in decent paper. It was mid sketch when the lead wouldn't shade correctly that she'd opted to head towards the main part of town. Alone.

Oh, vampire speed was a wonderful thing!

It seemed as if no time had passed before she arrived at the store! Surely she could have done better with time had she not tried to keep herself out of sight, but with the large bags that were entangled in her hands, the long way had been worth it! Opening up the plastic, she peered in with a large grin. Art markers and a new notebook, and some sketching pencils and chalks all filled it to near bursting. She couldn't wait to begin with some new works.

It wasn't until she accidentally bumped into a woman that her mind was pulled back into the present. Scent overwhelming her, Rhiannon felt a pain in the back of her throat. Stepping back hurriedly as if the woman had been made of acid, she stared wide-eyed at her. Lips pressing tightly closed, she fought to not follow her.

But she was too new too this, and the temptation was too great. Tongue trailing along a fang, a moment later the predator tugged at the hem of her dress and inched forward.

The entire city was fucked up. His sight did not leave anything to the imagination. There was an unidentifiable feeling to Crescent Cove that Levi was not even sure he actually felt, but the hairs on the back of his neck tingled and stood at end at curtain places, like the Burnt Wood. He hated that place.

He had left Colton to play with the dog he had insisted on and went out into the night. Levi was an unintentional Hunter. He did not go out of his way to seek out supernaturals, but he dealt with them when he came face to face with them. All except the strange creature from the pound, she didn't seem evil, but the fact that he had no way to put a name to what she was bothered him.

The sight was strange. Nothing supernatural hid from his eyes even through the darkness, they gave off something for him to see. It was not exactly auras, but a mixture of what people would call auras and what looked like seeing through a hologram into what they really looked like- for those that had a different appearance.

Turning the corner, Levi came upon a woman walking away from the store and a girl staring at her. Recognizing what she was immediately, Levi ran toward the duo with an urgency. The woman was oblivious to the world, earbuds keeping her from hearing his footsteps. Beau put all his body weight into his attack, like a Rugby player taking down the opposition, and tumbled them both into the alley.

Had she been a bit more experienced, she would have sensed him coming. Had she been a bit less filled with hunger, she would have reacted. But as it was, one minute she was heading towards this innocent woman, and the next she was toppling back into the alley, her bags of markers spilling out into the shadows. "What the hell, Barry Allen!" she snapped instinctively. It wasn't until they were on the ground and she was staring upwards that panic shot through her. Memories flashed of a man, his large hands wrapped around her body. His laugh, his scent.

Fear shot through her spine.

"Get off!" she hissed, teeth clacking together. Legs kicked and arms wriggled, attempts to push him off of her. But without a sense of direction, without calm, Rhiannon wasn't capable of controlling her strength or exercising proper defensive skill (not that she had much control to begin with). Her father's martial arts lessons were useless. "You can't have me, bucko!"

To have waited until she attacked the woman would have been too late for Levi's liking. The fact that he could keep her down, when he was more than prepared for the inevitable throw off, confused him. But he was not falling for the vampire's games. He wouldn't wait for her to kill him also. "You can't have her!" He spat back.

Reaching back he grabbed a pair of iron handcuffs from his belt. The kicked and movement from the girl causing him to drop them on the ground with a loud clank. "Fuck." He leaned down. The struggle of the vampire kicked into full gear and with one hit from her loose arm he was thrown back against the cement wall. A groan escaped his lips, but one strong hit would not keep him down. He was trained for worse.

Taking a deep breath, he pushed himself to a crouching position, awaiting the fight. Levi pulled out his stun gun and pointed it at her. "Do not think about moving." He ordered as he managed to grab the handcuffs. The iron might have been strange to those that only knew the creatures through movies and literature, but Levi had found the weakness one pure accident while on a mission.

Adrenaline pumped through her vampire body, blood and mana rushed far more quickly than it ever had before. Having had the sight before her transformation, the shift to vampire sight hadn't been as traumatic as it might have been for another human. But the other senses she had no control over. Reflexes and karate skills kicking in, she rolled over on her shoulder and flipped into a crouching position. "I stand corrected, Justice League," she scoffed, rolling her eyes. "She bumped into me."

Not that she'd actually choose to suck on someone. Her priority, though, was the cuffs in his hand and not the girl. "You come near me with those things and I will kick your ass." But it wasn't because they were made of iron...Her healing abilities had fixed some of the scarring around her wrists until they were but faint, white, rings from the last time she had been chained. And she would sooner die before she let that happen again. Unfortunately, Rhiannon had little in the way of weapons other than her teeth and her strength - a strength that she hadn't even begun to master (she'd broken the shopping cart at the art supply store)!

Rising, but keeping her distance, she inched into a standing position in a motion that was almost leisurely, despite the gun pointed at her. Flattening out her dress, she scowled when she realized how bunched up it had gotten. He better not have seen her scars. Asshole. "I just ate. You're ruder than Papa Scowlypants," she grumbled, eyeing him with her best version of a death glare. "So seeing as you just scattered my markers all over the damn place, how about you drop the fucking gun, pick them up like a gentleman is supposed to, and back the fuck off. Okay? If not, the pick your poison: Do you want me to She-Hulk or Pink Ranger your ass?" Now that the cancer has been removed from her bloodstream, she felt nearly unstoppable.

"I know what you are." He said pointedly. His face set in determination. "I saw how you looked at that woman, so don't give me that bullshit about having already eaten, unless I should expect to find a dead body around here. Which doesn't help your case." Beau had been far too focused on anticipating her next move, via watching her shoulders and torso, to notice any scars on the body. With her overuse of pop references he could only assume she was a young vampire.

"I could take you down before you have the chance, girly." But his eyes glanced down at the art supplies covering the ground around him. She could have been trying to distract him to get the upper hand, but she had obviously come from the store with the intent of art and not food. Someone following a target would have grabbed random things from the front of the store rather than things scattered around that went together in the end, especially a hungry vampire.

Keeping the gun pointed at her, he placed the cuffs back in their holster on his belt and used his freehand to pick up the markers at his feet. Placing the pieces in the fallen bag, he stepped back and looked at her suspiciously, gun still level. His face had softened around the edges and in his eyes. Focused was one thing. Determined to take down the enemy, sure. But Levi did not enjoy killing. How he could just let her go to kill another person though, that was the quandary.

"You mean awesome? I'm so glad you noticed." Without physical strength for so long, Rhiannon had become used to using her words. And she hadn't been able to do much but sit and watch movies or draw. She liked to think it made her interesting. "Try and find a body. You won't be able to. Because I didn't hurt anyone." Not that she would tell him exactly how she had her last meal. "But rest assured that if I hadn't eaten...you wouldn't be standing right now. Besides, she bumped into me, so it's not like I had a say in the matter."

That threat sounded good, right?

"You'd have to catch me, Speedy, and I know karate and can rip refrigerators apart in point two seconds. I don't think you stand a chance." She'd begun to cross her arms protectively over herself, but they settled at her sides as he put the cuffs away. Unexpectedly, he leaned forward to pick up her markers, and her brows rose.

For once, she was actually stunned into silence.

She debated for a long moment before finally taking two steps forward and reaching down for the bag herself. Opening it up, she looked inside and counted...she was missing one. "Put the gun down and help me find the...," Which color was missing? Oh! "...the bright pink one, would ya. I promise not to bite you if you can find my favorite color."

Her quips were strange and child-like. She looked like a teenager, and acted like one as well. He laughed at her threat, raising his brows in disbelief. "You are really not helping the situation by threatening me, plus I'm a Navy SEAL, I've dealt with worse than a vampire." He knew he couldn't match their strength and speed but he wasn't some weakling off the street. Seals were trained to face fear and push the limits.

Beau watched her pick her bag up, keeping his footing solid, in case she wanted to play more than the word game. "Right, that's a way to get a Hunter's help." The dark alley gave little light for him to even see colour beyond what the vampire gave off. Stepping back away from her, his heel started to step down onto something plastic. "Fuck." He picked up the last marker before it was crushed by his boots.

"Here..." He held out the pink marker to her. No matter the eccentricity of the vampires, Beau could not trust them. There had been an immediate danger, now past, and the girl did not go to try and attack him to feed like a bloodthirsty monster might have. Lowering his gun, he watched her with her art supplies. "How old are you?"

"Yea, well. I had cancer and my Daddy was a marine. I think I can handle a tall, dark man-candy with a gun." In Buffy the Vampire Slayer only females were hunters. That being said, he obviously didn't have the super strength, and her face didn't get squishy when she vamped out. So that show definitely had some things wrong. She really needed to clarify with Papas Valerian and Scowlypants about how all of this stuff worked.

"I didn't ask for the help. You jumped me." Obviously. Scanning the alley as best she could, she was almost distracted by just how easily she could see things, even in the darkness. One of the benefits to being nocturnal, she supposed. Spotting the marker but a moment before his foot pressed down, her hand rose to warn him to stop, but he discovered it on his own before destroying it with his foot.

Lips twisting and a brow arching, she debated whether or not to take the marker. He did still have a gun, after all. It wasn't until it was lowered that she inched forward, holding out the bag open for him to drop it in. "I might crush it..." she explained. Thankfully, plastic was much less easily destroyed by her vice-like grip. "As old as my tongue and a little older than my teeth." She clacked them for emphasis.

Unlike in television, Beau did not need to see them visually change to recognize a vampire. He did not need to be a 'Slayer' to take on the Supernatural. Vampires were not those that he hunted the most, but he did not limit himself to one type like some might. "Your father being a marine does not make you one." He laughed, shaking his head. Glancing her up and down, Beau pressed his lips together. He wasn't sure how the cancer related.

"I meant helping find your marker. I was helping that woman to not get eaten by stopping you." There was no getting through to her. When she commented to maybe breaking the plastic marker and then continued to another child-ish come back, Beau crossed his arms. The gun tucked behind his arm with the safety engaged.

"Then you must be a baby since your adult teeth haven't come in yet." He retorted. "Explain to me why I shouldn't kill an obvious newly created vampire, who likely cannot keep her hunger in check?" Other than the fact that to have a new vampire there had to be another one that created it in the area. He would have to hunt down that one or nest to make sure that more vampires were not created and set loose on the city.

"No, but I was taught how to do stuff, thankyouverrymuchly. I'm a little outta practice," from being sick, among other things, "But I remember how!" And now she had the vampire strength and speed to back it up, and the stubbornness that willing herself not to die brought with it. She was half tempted to stomp her foot for emphasis - but she might have cracked the concrete!

Cheeks tinted a pale pink in the darkness as she was corrected. "Oh...yea. Um...thanks...." she mumbled, dropping the bag to her side. "But I wouldn't have eaten her..." Maybe. "Just...smelled her a bit." Nose crinkled at the thought, it sounded creepy, even to her. She'd never actually bitten anyone before, and if she were being honest with herself, the thought sounded a bit too bizarre for her to wish to attempt.

Thankfully, she was stopped before she'd lost control and he was at enough of a distance that the smell of his blood wasn't overwhelming. "I'm old enough," she insisted, flashing her fangs in a dopey grin. Okay, so they were small and delicate in her tiny mouth. But she was sure they'd get the job done! (They scraped her own lip well enough!) "And you shouldn't kill me because..." Well... "Because it would be rude, for one. And I have not one but two vampire daddies who would come after you." So maybe only one of them would give a shit...but he didn't need to know that! "I'm going to turn around and leave now. You can walk with me out to the main road if you insist on playing defender of the humans. But you stay within eyesight the entire time." She couldn't trust a hunter just as much as he couldn't trust a vampire.

Beau blinked, given her a look that said much the same thing as she thought to herself; smelling someone was creepy. For a vampire her age, he knew that smelling would lead to biting would lead to killing. He had seen an acquaintance turn and the other vampire disappear to leave the hungry creature to fend for itself. Words and thoughts did not follow the actions, he spoke of how he did not want to kill, but the hunger clung to his instincts and he tore two people apart to feed it.

"Rude? Seriously?" He sighed, stepping forward. "Two vampires changed you?" There was a first for everything. Two vampires together, creating a third, was suspicious. Either they had a nest already or creating one with starter fish. The new information meant he needed to girl to direct him to her home.

"I'll take that offer." Putting his gun away, he walked up beside her. "I am free all night to make sure you don't try to smell someone else." Beau eased the suspicion in his body language to make sure she was not on edge. They could not trust each other, but he needed her to trust him more so that he could find these two 'father' vampires.

Blush deepening across her cheeks, her eyes cut away the moment that expression spread across his features. So maybe she had a little bit of a control issue. But she'd get better in time!

"Rude. Seriously." she repeated. "And nosy. Really, Speedy, you're lucky you're kind of cute. It makes up for the lack of social skills." Nodding, she looked up at him with an amused smirk. Surely it wasn't that strange of an occurrence. At least, as she understood it, sometimes multiple bites were needed. This just sped things up. Not that she'd tell him that. "Do I need to give you the talk about the birds and the bees, Mister Man?"

Cerulean side-eyeing him until he was by her side, her short limbs began to carry her in the direction of the street. She hadn't realized the height difference until just then, and it made her nervous. Human men couldn't be trusted. Full lips parting, she glanced up at him as she turned right and debated on whether or not to ask for his name.

"I'm a military officer, I don't need social skills." Beau smirked. She was definitely the strangest creature he had dealt with. His social skills were reserved for humans and witches, crazy vampire babies were not at the top of his list. Lately he was lacking toward anyone or anything that wasn't related to him.

He opened his mouth and then shut it, shaking his head. "Not in the least. I know how your kind is made. I've seen it. I also do not think your kind is the biggest threat out there." Fae and Demons had a lot more power and determination to create problems than vampires did. Their weaknesses were harder to figure out from short encounters. Vampires only worried Beau because of their thirst.

Beau followed her in silence. He could be called a bodyguard, but her body was not what he was guarding. "I'm Levi." He mentioned, the thought in his mind nearly the same time it was in hers.

"Everyone needs social skills. You should practice them. I'll even offer my services as tutor for the remainder of the walk. I am an expert, after all." As long as sufficient distance was kept, she should be fine until she got far enough away to slip away to her home.

Blue eyes rolled. "How, perhaps. But there is always a why, as well, and that you cannot understand. I would take these pointy teeth over the alternative, and I am grateful for them everyday." It hadn't been but a couple of weeks ago that she couldn't walk down a hallway without nearly collapsing. And now she was running to town. She was seeing and experiencing in a way that she'd never been able to do before. Learning experience as it might have been in regards to her no longer having the sight, her other senses made up for it. She couldn't wait to try a speed drawing when she got home!

Walking in silence for several minutes, the peace was shattered by the sound of his name. Rhiannon grinned. "I'm sticking with Speedy, I think. It suits you more." A pause. "Rhiannon."

"I am not the Green Arrow's sidekick." He mused back, not even sure if she would get the reference. The t.v. show barely mentioned in passing the name and gave it to his cousin rather than an actual sidekick he was suppose to have. He smiled, looking over at the rainbow-haired vampire. "If I have to live with a nickname, then you get to be Rainbow Brite."

For a weeknight, the streets were fairly busy. People passed by, still celebrating the fourth of July even weeks later. The drunken escapades were what people focused on while forgetting all the other national holidays that celebrated veterans and men in service of the country. Americans had a habit of forgetting what they celebrated no matter what holiday passed.

Pale blue pools of colour kept moving around always paying attention, but there were times where an uncomfortable aura came over him. Crescent Cove had an abnormal amount of supernaturals in it. He could not tell the good from the bad witches, but there were several they passed in their walk that looked otherwise out for blood.

A few more minutes passed, ease settling in once more, or as much ease as he were capable of at pace with a baby vampire. "This town... I'm not sure what it is but I think I'm going to regret coming here." Small talk, was that a better more polite version of social skills se was looking for?

"Well, you're certainly not Oliver Queen. Unless that makes me Canary. He would have at least bought be dinner before trying to feel me up." Shrugging her shoulders, she thought about the name for a moment before grinning. "There are worse things I could be called. At least it's not a My Little Pony."

It was only when the crowds swarmed that she found her jaw setting. Without her own ability anymore, and with senses that she still hadn't gotten used to, she had the worst time making processing things. "It was much easier when you people sparkled," she grumbled under her breathe, as if cursing them all out for making things difficult for her. Sights and sounds and smells bombarded her, and small feet moved just a little more quickly the moment a wave of them seemed to come at them out of nowhere.

Biting the inside of her lip with a pointed tooth, she tasted metal and mana in her mouth. Thankfully things calmed down fairly quickly. "I grew up a few towns over. Started coming here when I was a kid, and eventually moved because of the constant commute. It's really not so bad. And has a great art store." She held the bag up for emphasis. "We never had the money to waste on art supplies. I always wanted professional markers and on my sixteenth birthday, Dad bought me a whole set of them and told me that when I used up all the ink, that he'd buy me a whole new set. He was bribing me, I think, to make me feel better." It had worked, too. The excitement of being able to use them distracted her from the illness and the fact that she couldn't have a birthday party.

The grumble had been barely audible, but enough for Levi to hear the comment. Sparkled? He questioned in his mind. Years of abuse from his father whenever he mentioned the things he saw had left an entire inner dialogue of questions and comments that he did not dare to say to anyone, but his cousins. Considering Rhett was a witch, he knew his cousins would not think of him as strange for what he saw that made supernaturals apparent.

He nodded to her comments, little glimpse into her life before. Beau did not really want to learn about her soft side, it made it harder to kill something when you pitied it or empathized with them. The lack of those tales from Fae and Demons made them the easier targets when it came to mentally prepping. Rhi was correct when she said that the whys were also a factor in the turn.

When the crowds disappeared, he stopped, brushing his fingers throw his hair. "What did you mean sparkled?" Levi was direct when he asked questions and had she been a Fae, he made sure his questions were well worded so they could not play word games. "Before you became- this- did you see things?"

This evening was quickly turning into a bizarre and yet strangely amusing one. What had started out has shopping and her first adventure out had quickly turned into an almost accident and a walk with a man who wanted to kill her. Yet hadn't yet.

Pausing in her thoughts and steps when asked about her sight, Rhi's hands clasped behind her back as she rocked on her heels. "Yep," she nodded. "Like sparkles around things - not like fucking Twilight." It was a necessary clarification, in her opinion. For as much as she loved movies, that one was blasphemous. "That's one of the reasons my Sire chose me. Your people scare me more than his ever did. I didn't even flinch."

Every person with the Sight saw the world in a different way. No two descriptions from what he had learned were ever the same, but to run into another who had the gift was always a strange moment of realization. They were all strange colourful creatures in a sea of muted tones. "So you use to be like me..." He said offhandedly. "Do you even keep the... gift after you are turned?" Levi was more than curious now as why that would be a reason to be targeted by a vampire, other than to know a supernatural by looking at them tended to cause trouble for everyone.

"My people?" He questioned, confused, still thinking about others with the Sight. "You mean Hunters? You should be afraid, your kind kills, we fight back. You cannot tell me that you have eaten and yet have not injured someone else to eat. Your kind needs blood to survive."

Waiting for another wave of people to pass, she slipped closer to the wall of a store that had closed for the night. Back pressing against it, she dropped her voice. "I could see who was and who was not human. They had rings of shimmering light around them. I think that different colors meant different things, but I never had the energy to explore it." Her head shook at mention of the current state her her side, pink tips bouncing on her shoulders. "I don't need it. You smell different...better than normal people do. It's like vegetables versus candy to a child."

Eyes darkening when he assumed she meant hunters, Rhiannon adjusted the wide straps on her dress, as if to make sure the triangular burns were still hidden. "No," she corrected. Teeth flashed then, a dangerous button being pressed unintentionally. "My Sires were gentle and bit me on my arms after asking me more than once if I was sure. One of them could have died from his efforts to make my transformation as painless as possible." Pausing, she stood to her full height (still hardly intimidating, though it made me feel better). "Compared to what plain, ordinary human men..." Rhiannon shook her head. "Vampires are not the monsters. And I have fed, yes. And I have not touched a single human to do it."

"I can barely even describe what I see. There's light, colours and I can see what they look like underneath..." He mentioned, his voice low.

He matched her look, inch for inch, arms crossing. "I am not a plain ordinary man," he retorted. "And I know, above all others the monsters of humanity that put your kind to shame, but I fight to protect the good. I stop supernaturals from killing innocents as much as I fight bad humans to protect our country."

Beau gave her a look. "And how did you manage that?" Tempting fate, Beau stepped closer to Rhi. His hands sat behind his back as he looked her over. He needed to remember that she was a dangerous creature and not some eccentric artistic girl like out of the movies. He saw the discomfort when the crowds of people passed. She could have feed, but she was obviously having issues with her hunger.

"You have no idea..." she forced out, her throat feeling as if it were constricting in upon itself. Her wrists seemed heavy, the feeling of the chains pulling on her slender frame. The man had been shot, but he was still alive. And she'd been the one dying instead.

Teeth ground together, stubbornness setting into her tiny frame. His scent filled her lungs, taunting, teasing, like a sugary treat ready to be devoured. "The same way you get something when you're hungry, Speedy. I opened the fridge." He was doing it on purpose, she just knew it.

"Back up."

He did not know her back story, would never have guessed it, but that did not mean that he had never witnessed something similar. He had seen enough enemies or human slave trades. No matter if they were humans or supernaturals, there was evil out in the world. He had enough scars of his own, hidden away on his body, that reminded him of that every day. Most were from his own drunk ass father.

"Back up?" He asked, playing stupid and taking another step forward. "Why? I thought you fed already?"

She wanted to push him. She wanted to yell at him and call him an idiot. A hunter looking for a reason to kill when all she wanted to do was enjoy the evening and play with her new markers. He couldn't understand where she was coming from, and likewise she couldn't understand how he could be so...cruel.

"Stop it..." Her voice cracked, the tips of her fingers pressing into the side of the building, digging into brick and mortar to stop herself. But he moved closer, still.

The space between them was was quickly closed in a flash, her tiny frame press, press, pressing against him. Rhiannon inhaled. Masculinity and sweat and the night air and and whatever it was that made him him filled small lungs capable of filling for the first time since she could remember. It was as if time stopped.

When teeth finally sank in, a small moan slipped past, teeth digging into meat. Blood oozed from the holes she had made in her own hand, vice-like grip fixed in the flesh were thumb became palm.

Night pooled around them. The late night lamp buzzing above their position, leaving them off centered on the wall. Beau did not know what he expected her to do. He was proving a point; to himself and to her. Hungry or not vampires were led by their desires. Levi did not see his actions as cruel. To be cruel would have to been to cut his hand to make her prove she would not attack an innocent on the street.

The blur of motion immediately put him on edge, one hand moving back to one of many iron items he had on him, while the other grabbed her arm. Expecting the worst, time stopped for him as well. An iron spike half pulled from its pocket, Levi paused when he didn't feel her teeth on him. "What are you doing?" He asked, attempting to push her back.

Levi grabbed her hand, holding it like she were human and it needed to be wrapped. "Are you kidding me? Why would you do that to yourself?"

Pain shot through her, sensitive nerves on fire within her hand. But it had worked, and the pain was sufficient enough to distract her from the burn that had begun to build within her throat.

At least for the moment.

The grip upon her arm, or the metal being unsheathed barely even registered, the needles in her palm outweighing anything else that should have been perceived. It wasn't until she released her teeth and the red flowed that she realized he had her hand. His initial question went unanswered, mostly because it had gone unheard.

"I told you..." her murmured softly, face hidden behind falls of gold and magenta. Fingers tipped with chipped sapphire curled in on her palm. "...I have not bitten anyone." She wasn't naive enough to assume that it would never happen. But she with Sires like hers, and a steady supply of donated blood, surely she could make a good try of it.

Levi sighed. The wound healed quick enough. Once the blood stopped dripping only the tear stains of red were left. "I'm not sure biting yourself is the answer there." Levi appreciated the gesture of control, but the words did not leave his mouth. If she was a normal girl he would have been more capable at expressing himself, telling them compliments, but that was not the case.

Realizing he still held her hand, he dropped it and stepped back. The weapon in his other hand had been put back in its place. "You are the strangest vampire I've ever met." She was the only living one that had passed his sight and lived after he started the attack. Rhi was also the only one that had not fought back. No matter the change of scenery, Levi did not stop being a military man. As a Hunter, he worked under the same mindset.

"How far is your home?" He asked with a tone of sincerity. "So we can get you away from temptation and back to a drawing room or whatever you plan to do with the markers." Levi offered a concerned smile. Trust was not so easily came by, but the quicker he got her away from the crowds, the sooner she would not have to injure herself to keep from eating them.

So much was new to her, including the way in which her wounds healed. Even though the more fresh bruising and injuries had healed fully, many scars remained. But unlike the pain of the past, these teeth marks, much like that of both of her Sires' bites, disappeared rapidly.

"The alternative would have been worse for both of us, don't you think?" she questioned, stepping back just as he did. Licking the smears of red off her hand, it joined her other one in the handles of her goodie bag. Slender shoulders shrugged. "The fangs change nothing. I'm the same I have always been, only the disease has changed."

"Do you think it wise that I answer that question?" she asked with a crooked grin of her own. Knowing where her nest was surely wasn't a good idea for either of them. But her gaze shifted to the east. "How about I call my assigned detail and have him pick me up outside of the main part of town, okay? He'll take me home."

"So you were crazy before hand?" He teased, laughing lightly in the face of being about to kill her if she attacked him. Levi would not allow the interaction to affect his duties. She could lead him to a nest, which made her useful, and she was trying hard not to bite people, but Levi was determined to protect the public. Finding her attractive and quirky did not mean he would think with any other part of him that was not his brain.

He glanced down the smile soft on his lips and pressing his dimple-like lines in. "Or you can just tell me and I can drive you." Yes, he wanted to find the nest and had not thought far enough ahead to bring any tracking devices, but Levi also did not want to meet her 'assigned detail' as he assumed it was another vampire and letting one walk was one thing, but someone capable of being assigned to a young vampire would not be something he could allow around him or in the area.

"We're all mad here," she pointed out, quoting one of her favorite cats. "Especially if you believe that any part of this situation isn't even remotely fucked up." She was a girl that had asked to be turned into a vampire to save her life. And he was a hunter that had almost killed her. And yet, here she was, debating about whether or not to accept his offer of giving her a ride home. He was even kind of cute when he smiled like that, the way his dimples seemed to just...

Stop.

"I'm not showing you where I live, no matter how cute you are." And really, she shouldn't be even considering the ride. Valerian would kill her if he found out...and Liam would surely call her stupid. "So, I'll agree to half-way. I'll be out of the city, and I can walk the rest of the way." Recently bit hand outstretched, she wiggled her fingers for a shake. "Deal?"

Eyebrows raised as he tilted his head in agreement. "If you've seen what I've seen in life and thrown from the worst situation to a only slightly better one because you get to fight back without jail time... this is nothing but a caucus race." Beau did not see himself as been well-read, he had studied hard in any subject the Navy wanted him to so that he could get out of the house and away from his fucked up life, but children's stories were universal and over done in mass media.

So he has expected her to be a little more loose tongued than she was, but that would not stop him from his internal mission. Taking her hand, Beau shook her hand. "Deal. Come on, my car is a few blocks over." He lead her the long way to his car to avoid any other drunken stragglers.

Back in a dark alley, a cherry red four door jeep sat parked behind a dumpster. Beau was all about practical vehicles, but no boy could resist a beautiful cherry red car. He had the opportunity for a Wrangler with a soft top, but then he couldn't reinforce it to withstand supernatural attacks. The car chirped open and once they both climbed in, he looked over to Rhi. "So which way to half way?"

"And sometimes fighting back isn't an option..." The marks on her wrists were enough to prove that, and was one of the many things she tried to keep carefully hidden. Bracelets, sleeves, and longer things were very much her friend, and Rhiannon seldom wore anything that showed too much of her thighs. But it sounded like his life didn't turn out exactly as he'd hoped, either - not that she could imagine anyone choosing to kill an innocent.

Nodding, her hand fell after the shake, and just as before, she resumed their walk by remaining at safe distance parallel to him. The walk wasn't too far, especially with stamina such as hers, and soon enough they came upon a brightly colored Jeep. "I half expected black or camo..." she mused with a lopsided grin.

Stupid. Stupid. Stupid.

She was about to get into the car with a hunter. She was such an idiot. Sighing softly, Rhi slipped inside (taking as much care as possible not to accidentally break off the door or damage it), and closed the door with the softest of clicks. The seat-belt ignored, she sank into the seat and pressed her back at an angle between the back of the chair and the door so that she could keep an eye on the driver. "That way," she pointed. "Get on the main road and drive about twenty minutes out. I'll walk the rest of the way." A pause. "Thank you."
