Lex nodded back, noting the mother's obvious nerves. "My office is this way." He moved without looking back towards them, robes swishing over the ground as he led them out of the main room and down several gently sloped corridors and descending staircases.
Lex's office was low on ground level. He opened the door with a flick of his wand and led them inside where the stained glass windows sent shadows of red and hints of light amber over everyone's faces.
There were three straight back but cushioned chairs in front of his desk; the desk which held colourful liquid in glittering, exotically shaped bottles. Shrugging off the school's robe and pulling on a simple black jacket, he nodded to the chairs. "Please, sit." And then with another wave of his hand, the air in the room seemed to hum a moment and then pop.
