Lex flipped his hand over to show Remus his watch. The face was a gold coin and the multiple hands were black. At the moment there was one quite plainly showing the word "Lupins" and it was pointing to the red glowing crystal.
A flick of his wrist and the Silencing Charm popped like a burst bubble, with a tiny rush of atmospheric pressure. Lex nodded out of the door down the stairs. Taking the first step though, he looked up at Remus and winced.
"Your mother. She's downstairs in the potions classroom." Familiarity with his own classroom and his favoured subject and Lex had forgotten how the room might look to a Muggle; rows and rows of shelves with student cauldrons for those who preferred to keep them in the class; the simple potion ingredients that were kept in jars and bottles; how would Remus' mother take upside down, potion saturated upside down toads, or the array of gleaming knives or the fact that the classroom had been transfigured into stadium seating with his own desk (big enough to lay a body on) in the center.
Lex took the steps down quickly, suddenly anxious for the state of his classroom.
