Hestia was most definitely not a Ravenclaw by any stretch of the imagination. But her curiosity was aroused when Ripper pulled out the book and began reading out loud from it. (That proved that she was a Gryffindor though.) Unusual form of magic in that was how they used candles. Seemed a bit complicated though. She had a feeling though that Dumbledore would be intrigued by it though. Quite possibly McGonagall and Flitwick as well. If she could bring something back to help the war effort, even better.

Hieroglyphs were taught as a obscure magical language, but she hadn't paid much attention to runes other than what was necessary. She should ask Bill Weasley.
