Rupert slipped Andi out of Fred's arms and laid her against his shoulder. He gently rubbed and patted her back, smiling when she let out a small burp. "Hmm, I've already rang Willow. She said she'll call everyone for us. I asked for them not to come until tomorrow morning. I rather not have them disturb you today so you can rest," he told his wife before he cradled Andi in his arms.
"May I hold her?"
He looked down at Charlie and smiled while nodding. "Why don't you sit by your mum, love and put a pillow on your lap," he said as Charlie climbed on the bed. "Just be careful because she's a bit sore."
Once Charlie was situated beside Fred, and had a pillow on her lap, Rupert carefully placed Andi in her arms. He explained to her that she needed to be mindful of the infant's head and neck. Soon Charlie was holding her baby sister and grinned.
"She's cute," Charlie said as she looked down at her. She giggled a little when Andi opened her eyes and yawned a little. "She has blue eyes!"
"All babies have blue eyes when they're first born, sweetheart," Rupert explained. "In a few weeks they'll change to the color they'll be for the rest of her life."
"Wow," Charlie said in awe. She then looked at the two of them. "When will I get a baby brother?"
Rupert snorted and shook his head. "We'll discuss that at a later date," he said.
