Rupert chuckled over his oldest daughter's excitement at the stuffed dog. He then turned and smiled at his parents and mouthed a 'thank you'. He knew how much it meant to Fred to have her parents there, too. He had thought about bringing them over but his parents had beat him to it.
"Why don't you put it back in the box, sweetheart so it doesn't get dirty," Rupert told Charlie. The little girl nodded and slipped the dog back into the box and closed the lid. She then moved closer to Roger and they started to chat about the science kit she'd gotten.
Snorting, Rupert looked over at Xander. "I'll spoil you and let you help me get some blankets and pillows out so we can make up the guest room for Roger and Trush," he said with a cheeky look.
"Actually, they're staying with us," Helen said.
"We didn't want to crowd your space," Trish said before she handed Andi back to Fred. "I never did like it when my mother would stay after Fred was born."
"Geez, Xan, you just can't win today, can ya?" Willow asked before sticking out her tongue.
"You could help me get some more food from the kitchen," Buffy said.
"Slayer powers and I have to help her carry a tray of food in," Xander said. When he saw the look on Buffy's face and sighed. "Coming."
As they walked off toward the kitchen, Giles went to one of the chairs and sat down. Charlie hopped up the couch and went over to her father and crawled into his lap and curled up against his chest. Rupert figured she was getting a bit tired so he wrapped his arms around her and allowed her to doze off there.
