Hey guys. This is Daughter_Moon, who has finally decided to dedicate a single journal to all my knitting.
So, progress. Emma's christmas blanket is finished and will be personally delivered or mailed depending on whether or not she can get up here. It's not quite as big as I'd have liked, but fine for a lap afghan.

I cast on a pair of River Rapids socks on Boxing Day, and finished them a few days ago. I used The Natural Dye Studio Sock in Ice Cloud, and thankfully was not attacked by SSS.

I've made progress on Andoa for Dad's birthday in March. I have finished the back and started the front, but have run into trouble on the seed stitch panels after knitting 1150 rows of the stuff during the blanket. This may go back on hold until I've recovered from the repetativeness.

Finally, I cast on Rogue 5 days ago, after almost 4 years of lusting after the lovely cables and shaping. I feel knowledgeable enough now to attempt it and it is going very well. ( This is the picture from day 3: )
I am now 18 rows from splitting the front and back, and have joined the pocket on. Cables have gone more or less quite smoothly and I'm enjoying the constantly changing rows. It keeps the project from becoming boring. I love this pattern!
In reading, I have read Owlsight, Owlflight and Owlknight by Mercedes Lackey; Knitting Rules, The Secret Life of a Knitter and Meditations for Women who Knit Too Much by Stephanie Pearl-McPhee; and Time Stops for No Mouse by Michael Hoeye since Christmas. I have almost finished Uncle Tom's Cabin by Harriet Beecher Stowe and then intend to start The Sands of Time by Michael Hoeye and Heart of Darkness by Joseph Conrad. So I'm having fun.
Last, but not least, last Saturday was my birthday. Look at the awesome knitting cake my parents got me!
