    Two book recs.
Hello. Just joined this so I thought I'd post two recs. :-)

I Am Legend is just excellent.

If you know it from the Will Smith film then you may find this is a little more horror than you were expecting (it's basically a variation of the vampire myth). If you're not a fan of vampire books then please don't let that put you off. It's an compelling end-of-the-world story with a fascinating central character and great action scenes and shows his emotional journey so well. I was with him every step of the way willing him to survive.

It was also a quick read - a few hours uninterrupted reading.

Making Money is another excellent book.

I always find Terry Pratchett's books fabulous, funny, fascinating and lots of other words begining in f.

    Possibly.

No seriously, this is perhaps not his best work in the Discworld universe but is a great read. Moist is a character easy to like, a con-artist forced into working for the city of AnkMorpork. It's very funny, with original characters and is a damn good adventure. If you enjoy this be sure to check out his many other Discworld books - in particular the Witches and the Guards series.

    Vampire Novels!
Hello! I've already posted two rec lists for vampire novels in my journal. I've recommended the books in these lists because I've enjoyed them immensely and, they are, on the whole quick reads for various reasons (mostly because they're really engaging).

    Vampire Novels, Part One (adult)
Vampire novels geared towards adult audiences (which means graphic sex and violence).

Vampire Novels, Part Two (teen/young adult)
Vampire novels geared towards teens and young adults (which means no sex--or, at least, no graphic sex--and less violent violence).

    First Post
Well I started this asylum so I should post the first entry and recs. Of the books I have read recently I would recommend Luck in the Shadows, by Lynn Flewelling, I found it well written and a quick read (three days). I also recommend Sea Dragon Heir, by Storm Constantine, it has a well written plot that drags you in and won't let go this one is a slightly slower read for me (a week and a half).

Please remember this is supposed to be fun, if we get enough people reccing different kinds of books I may figure out how to set up a master list, for now just tag your entry with the kinds of books you're reccing.
