Okay guys I come bearing 2 book recs, the first one is fantasy, the second one is a comedy/romance/mystery but for me the comedy is precedent. Both I believe are part of a trilogy. But the one by Meg Cabot could easily stand on its own.
The first one I want to rec is City of Bones A YA fantasy novel by Cassandra Clare. I read this around a year ago so it is not really fresh in my mind but I really enjoyed it. It has adventure, humor, and what I really liked was that the characters were true to thier characterisations.
The second one is Size 12 is not fat by Meg Cabot. It is about a washed up pop star who works in a dorm at a New York University. She works in the office but the students come to her for everything from advice to roomate/room changes. That is until a mysterious death occurs and no one believes it wasn't suicide or a prank gone awry except our main character, Heather Wells. This means that Heather must solve the mystery herself since no one else will. Did I mention she also has to figure out how to tell her could have been brother in law/landlord that he is the one for her? It is a very funny and light read, and if you are anything like me you will burst out laughing more than once.
