It had come to Henry's great shock when Thomas Tinker turned himself in the night before. He felt insulted that he couldn't figure this out. But then again, Thomas was a man of no importance and according to his claims during interrogation, was sure he could get away with it for just that reason. He claimed it to be a crime of passion, but the methodical manner in which he cleaned up after himself, he said, came from working in his father's blacksmith shop, who was rather strict about tidiness and not leaving a mess behind. He answered many of the questions that Henry had and by the end, Henry, while still shocked that it was this mild-mannered man who seemed rather fidgety, was rather convinced.
Now came the difficult part. Deciding what was to be done. It was ultimately William's call and the Homelands had particularly brutal ways of executing a man. Well, brutal compared to the ways things were done here in this world. Yet special permission was given for the people of Astoria to handle the murdered as he was, in the end, an Astorian.
"It's him," Henry said, "As hard as it was for me to believe...it was him. He answered every question we'd spoken of and...the detail in which he spoke about it, causes me to worry that if we stay in this world for much longer, we'll turn into the monsters the locals love to watch in their televised stories." He grimaced. Sure, things weren't exactly happy and perfect in the Homelands, but something about this crime felt...foreign.
He shook his head, "What do the laws in your home mandate for a man accused of the crimes this man has committed?"
