Henry got the call because the ID on the woman identified her as a Story. The Atlantic City police were polite to call him in and they were going to let them handle it until jurisdiction was sorted out from the higher ups. Henry wasn't thrilled to hear someone died, and yet he had a hard time believing it. Maybe it was a pretender. Stories didn't die. Even the old ones were living strangely long lives. Regardless, he came in his car and stepped out of the car, heading to where the police sectioned off the body where it was located behind Bally's.
He was greeted by an officer and show them his credentials and then was allowed past the police tape. Then he saw her. Elizabeth Schumaker. Pretty redhead. Came over toward the end of the exodus, if he remembered correctly. And she looked...well...dead.
"Give me a moment," he said and sent a text to Todd. The response was quick and he turned, "I'm going to have our doctor look at her, if you don't mind." As far as he knew, the physiology of the Homelands humans and those of this world was the same, but he didn't like the idea of a local poking and prodding. It didn't feel right. He wasn't all for seclusion from the rest of the city, but there was still in inherent need to keep things relating to Astoria, amongst Astorians.
When Todd arrived, he went to greet him and get him passage, "He's with me. Let him pass." The officers allowed Todd through and Henry said, "I won't ask if you have a strong stomach but...hell, Todd, this isn't like war." Because it was men who died in war, not young women.
