WHO: Professor Binns and all 5th year Students WHERE: History of Magic classroom WHAT: Binns kicks it. WHEN: Afternoon STATUS/RATING: IC/OOC log.
Binns was reading from the Eviction of giants. Only Binns could make the history of giants so very boring. He was glad that it was his birthday, he had hit 100, and was privately looking to a bit of scotch before he fell asleep that evening. But for now he was content to merely drone along from the textbook.
He felt an itch in his throat and made an odd noise as though trying to get something out if it. The itch didn't seem to want to leave, so Binns slowly paused his reading and looked around the classroom with his glassy eyes, trying to find where he had left his cup of water. With a shaking hand, he finally spied his glass of water at the edge of his desk. He reached for it, his arm almost popping out as he did. He took a long drink, and the pain in his throat seemed to subside.
He continued on his reading. "In 1419, Darwin Brewst---" He sputtered, coughing again. He coughed for a long time, choking and hacking on what seemed to be nothing. Finally it ended.
"Brewster led a group of wizards to evict the giants from..."
Only now it was no longer Binns the human that was speaking, but a pearly white form of him that was sitting in his chair and continuing his speech while the human Binns lay facedown and dead on top of the desk.
