It has been brought to my attention that as ombudsman to the Department of Magical Law Enforcement, it is to you whom I ought bring my concerns regarding policy.
Thursday, 27 March, I was brought in to the ministry on suspicion of terrorism. Though I find these charges to be obscene and grossly inaccurate, I do not begrudge the ministry its desire to fully and precisely protect its people.
However, I am concerned with both the term 'reasonable ground' (re: its application to my case) and the response of the ministry with regard to the complainant in this matter.
I wish to have written documentation detailing the reasonable grounds upon which I was arrested. From my understanding of the matter, a sole accusation was made against me, and the charge was assault and kidnapping. I see neither how an auror's word is to be exalted enough to hold me, nor do I see how either assault or kidnapping fall under the Prevention of Terrorism Act. I would be delighted if you would expound upon these matters.
Further, as I have already served the maximum holding time (as well as two addition days as the result of a foolish mistake regarding my wand), and yet no evidence of any kind has been brought against me, I wish to know that the ministry is fully investigating the matter - internally. I do not desire to bring any further distress to the person in question, but I do not feel it is in the Department of Magical Law Enforcement's best interest to allow blind, blatantly false accusations to go without repercussion.
I await your assurance that this matter will be fully reviewed.
