I have received letter from Minister Bagnold with regards to the Order, to the effect of, "You are either with me or against me, and if you don't communicate with me as I wish, I will take action against you." She also accused us of assaulting Pepper, which I find to be something of an exaggeration.
The other members of the Order will presumably be angry if they are not allowed some say in this, but I thought it best to communicate with you first. Right now, I am inclined to attempt to work with her, though, of course, with your word I would not. There is more harm, I believe, in not, as she has the potential to arrest many of our members, including all of our contacts in the Department of Magical Law Enforcement. It has occurred to me that, whatever she may ask, I could lie to her if need be, though I really would rather not.
Either way, I don't think that I can let this pass without answering it in some way.
Sincerely, Alice Longbottom
Attached is a copy, written by Alice, of the letter sent by Millicent.
