TERRORISTS FRANK AND ALICE LONGBOTTOM DEAD AT LAST FULL EXTENT OF THE RENEGADE TRAITORS' CRIMES EXPOSED Jeremiah Smith TINWORTH - After more than eight months of eluding the Department of Magical Law Enforcement following their attempted coup of the Ministry of Magic and countless other crimes against the wizarding community of Great Britain and Ireland, terrorists Frank and Alice Longbottom are finally dead. This past Friday night, the Longbottoms were caught attempting to poison the water supply of the Muggle-wizarding settle of Tinworth, Cornwall. Officers from the DMLE, however, interrupted their terrorist activities and tracked them down to a nearby field on the outskirts of the town. Both Longbottoms refused to put down their wands and resisted arrest when prompted by the DMLE officers to do so. Following a violent confrontation in which the Longbottoms cast to kill and murdered at least one officer, both terrorists were finally subdued and killed. 'The world should sleep safer tonight knowing the Longbottoms are no longer at large,' noted Minister for Magic Aeneas Nott in a brief statement late last night. 'While it would have been ideal to have apprehended the Longbottoms and put them into our Rehabilitation Centre with the goal of making them once again productive members of society, they had unfortunately moved too far into their dark and ruthless den of sin and amorality, forcing our DMLE officers to take extreme measures in order to defend themselves and ultimately leading to the Longbottom's demise.' A recent investigation conducted by the DMLE into terrorist attacks during the last several years have revealed that a number of crimes once attributed to the Death Eaters were actually the work of Frank and Alice Longbottom in their plot with former Head Auror Rufus Scrimgeour to take over the Ministry of Magic in a coup in due time. As leading members of the Auror Office directly involved with many DMLE investigations, they were able to cover their tracks and direct the blame for their actions to other parties. Prior the beginning of this year, the Longbottoms were responsible for the following crimes:
On 2 January 1980, the Longbottoms and other members of the DMLE were responsible for attempting to take over the Ministry of Magic. Although the coup itself was a failure and the traitors were forced to go into hiding, Bartemius Crouch, Sr., the previous Head of the DMLE, was assassinated when his back was turned while confronting the guilty former Aurors and Hit-wizards about their conspiracy. Since becoming renegades guilty of the highest treason, the Longbottoms' crimes have been numerous and destructive to the peace and order of this country. Among their many acts of terrorism since the failed coup include the following:
Representatives from the DMLE have stated that while they are pleased and relieved that the threat posed by the Longbottoms to the country and public has finally been removed, they also urge the public not to become complacent due to this one victory, however great it may be. Many other terrorists formerly of the DMLE, including Rufus Scrimgeour and Alastor Moody, remain at-large and are expected to strike back in retaliation soon. 'The deaths of these two heinous terrorists is symbolic of this war. With everything these people touch, the disease of violence and death spreads. Even at the bitter end, when they could have submitted peacefully to capture, the Longbottoms forced our hand and turned a lawful arrest into a bloodbath,' said DMLE Head Dolores Umbridge in a statement earlier this morning. 'It is shameful but law prevailed, as it must. Let this be an example to other terrorists who would destroy this country and drown it in blood - the government can be merciful but if we are forced, we will take whatever action is necessary to protect this country and its people.' |
