Rita: Thank you Tom, for that fascinating story on fashions for August, so many have been (brief one second pause) skirting around the issue, but you tackled it superbly. And thank you for the mention of my book, The Life and Lies of Albus Dumbledore, which will be released in bookstores Britain-wide this Monday. As some of you may remember, a week ago today, a fire broke out on the outskirts of Leeds at the Paper-mill and parchment production centre that used to supply The Daily Prophet. While thankfully no one was killed in the fire, hundreds of dedicated wizards and witches lost their jobs as a result of the burning. The Department of Magical Law Enforcement has revealed today that the fire in the paper-mill was not accidental as was once believed, but a actually a result of terrorist activity. "It seems that the terrorists are continuing to target the press in their desperate attempts to gain public attention, it is a shame that their treachery seems to have extended past the Ministry to the free press of our country," Demetrius Mulciber, Undersecretary to the Head of National Security, Dolores Umbridge told us. As a previous reporter for the Daily Prophet, I can not begin to express how much news like this upsets me. The fact that the terrorists burned down such a historical institution was bad enough but to think that now they felt the need to burn down their suppliers as well is truly disturbing. So many loyal citizens have lost precious jobs thanks to these terrorists, and I, along with the rest of us here at the Wizarding Wireless Network's Nightly News hope that these villains are soon apprehended and punished for their outrageous crimes. Our deepest sympathies go out to those who were affected by last Saturday's fire, and for all of us here at the Wizarding Wireless Network's Nightly News, I am Rita Skeeter. Have a pleasant and safe night, Great Britian. |
