A MORNING WITH THE MINISTER,
A MORNING WITH THE MINISTER By Felicity Fairweather It is a rare honour in one’s life to be invited to join in the most important meal of the day with the Minister of Magic and his closest friends. This very reporter was granted such an honour, and you, our dear Witch Weekly readers are the first to hear about it! Minister of Magic, Aeneas Nott, has been an inspiration to us all. He picked up our world when it was down at its worst, and in just a few months, he has been able to almost completely revamp it, helping us move towards becoming the supreme society that the magical world should be. But do any of us know what makes up this great society we are striving for? What is a respectable society? Now, straight from the Minister of Magic and friends’ lips, I have the answer. I was escorted into the breakfast room of Lestrange Manor where I was greeted not only by the Minister and his lovely wife Claudette (who wore a simply gorgeous beige and magenta sundress), but by a gathering of his closest friends. Of course, the Lestrange family, Rodolphus (dressed sharply in navy), his wife Bellatrix (in black), and his younger sister Corbina (a vision in cream) joined us, as breakfast took place in their home. Also with the Lestranges were Mrs. Anastasia Mulciber (in a brown floral dress that was seen on the runways in Milan earlier this season), Mr. Atticus Avery, Mr. Walden Macnair (choosing, oddly enough, to wear a leather jacket in summer), and Mr. Gaius Travers (who seems to be making the attempt to bring polka dotted bowties back into fashion—let us hope he does not succeed). The powerful guest list was not the only thing to find impressive in Lestrange Manor, of course. | page 11 The breakfast table was eloquently set with the most scrumptious English breakfast this author has ever seen, complete with kippers! I took my seat (next to the Minister of Magic, himself) and began my interview, nearly bursting with excited anticipation. Minister Nott, a gracious interviewee as always, led the civilised discussion concerning what makes a respectable society. He and his enchanting wife agreed that the foundation to any respectable society is respect. Mrs. Nott wisely added, “without respect for each other and for our positions and stations, how can we be called respectable? If we have not respect, we are no better than those who wish to destroy our society with their violence and slander." Others added that family and tradition were also key in building strong societal foundations. Mrs. Anastasia Mulciber elaborated that, “Without functional and loving families, our world would fall apart." Mrs. Mulciber is the proud mother of Demetrius Mulciber, Undersecretary to the head of the Department of Magical Law Enforcement, who recently proposed to the simply radiant Corbina Lestrange. Although humble, Miss Lestrange silently glowed with happiness as her fiancé’s mother gushed about the engagement and her future daughter-in-law. It was much like the two were already family. In fact, to this reporter, it seemed that the entire breakfast table was simply one large happy family, caring for each other, assisting each other when needed, and even occasionally joking around despite the presence of the media. It seems that people like this are what make a respectable society. They may not all be bound together by blood, but they are bound together by tradition, respect, and a common goal of a better tomorrow. I, for one, will be certain to emulate their values and actions, and we at Witch Weekly hope you choose to do the same. |
LIAISONS IN LONDON I’m going to start this week’s article with a preface: I’m not old. I mean I’m not illegally young or anything, but I’m not old. The thing is, though, I tend to be attracted to older man. The Animal is older, the Musician is older, generally I date older guys. It’s not like I actively avoided younger guys, I’ve just never found myself especially attracted to them…until last week. Thanks to some random occurrence and happenstance, I ran into an old acquaintance of mine, we’ll call him The Boy. The Boy and I have run in the same circles for quite some time now, exchanging pleasantries whenever we see each other, but we’ve never really had a one-on-one conversation. And then, last week, our paths crossed and we decided to grab some drinks. Now The Boy and I are attractive and flirty people as it is, but put a few drinks in us and…well…you can put the pieces together. | page 26 My thoughts on sleeping with younger guys. They are so much more enthusiastic than the older ones? Comparing The Boy to The Animal, he just wasn’t nearly as jaded. With The Animal there were times where I wondered if we had sex because we wanted to or because we needed to, but with The Boy, I got the feeling he always wanted to. After talking to some friends, I’ve also learned that younger guys are more attentive. The Animal learned what I liked, what worked, and he stuck to it, but The Boy was trying new things, eager to see what the smallest change in position could do for the both of us. It was a nice change, I’m not going to lie. Will I sleep with The Boy again? Doubtful. I’m not looking for a relationship and he doesn’t seem like a repeater. Would I? It’s likely, but not too often. The Boy and I think younger boys in general, are like puppies. They are great for a while, but then you start to wonder: am I too old for that? |
