Office of the Minister for Magic FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE 8 June 1980 The Office of the Minister of Magic regrets to inform the public that the public vote on the Wizarding Heritage Protection Act has been postponed indefinitely. Due to the actions of foreign terrorists working in league with the Army of Albion in attacking the Foundation for the Promotion of Wizarding Society and Culture located in Diagon Alley the vote was postponed from its initial date of 5 June. Barnabas Campbell, Chief Electoral Officer. It's a right shame to see what's supposed to be a real historic day and a big step forward for the wizarding world suddenly take two steps backward. But there's been a lot of talk in the Ministry and this idea of a public vote isn't something that's going to go away. This bill might be put on the shelf for a while but democratic votes aren't. In the meantime we'll be refining the voting system to make sure everything can go as quickly and conveniently as possible the next time a bill comes through that'll be voted on. Further information is available from the Wizengamot offices. |
