"I'll be sure to keep that in mind, then," Remus said, certainly knowing there was likely to be arguments in the future -- it's just the way things were. At least he knew he had other people he could turn to when things got to be too much, but he would prefer that there weren't anymore fights. They seemed impossible to avoid, though; they had clashing personalities, even though Sirius was one of his best friends. Remus just hoped that they would never take things so far to the point where they were beyond repair. "I appreciate it. That would be awfully difficult to explain, and I'd rather not have to be taken in to the Ministry for showing magic in front of muggles. Although, explaining that you pushed me out might not look so good," Remus teased her as he pulled a chunk of the candy floss off for himself, eating the piece as they neared her parents' house once again, a sign that the night was coming to an end. "Are you going to stay at your parents' house tonight since you're here, or apparate back to Ted and Andromeda's?"
The idea of trying to explain to the muggle law enforcement that the reason behind The Incredible Bouncing Mr. Lupin's great descent was simply because she had pushed him caused Marlene to snort a bit in laughter. Attractive, McKinnon. This is why all the boys like you. That was basically grounds enough for Remus to cancel dinner for the next day and go running for the hills, hopefully to find people who didn't bloody snort when they laugh. "Yeah, but then I'd get arrested, and then you'd feel bad, and then I'd feel bad, and it would all be a vicious cycle which we simply cannot have," she replied, stopping in front of her parents' darkened house and considering Remus's question for a moment. "Hmm. I should probably head back to Ted and Andie's, since," Since Dorcas and probably Agnes would kill me right now for taking off with someone they just found out is a werewolf? "I didn't exactly tell anyone I was leaving, and I don't have my journal with me," Marlene explained. Ugh, they needed to bloody get their own place, and soon. As nice as it was of Andromeda and Ted to let her, Dorcas, and Agnes stay at their house, there came to be a point where it felt like they were taking advantage of their generosity, and Marlene felt like that line had already been crossed at least a week ago. "The lights are all off in there anyway; everyone's probably already asleep and I don't want to pop in without letting them know first."
If Remus had any problems with Marlene snorting while she laughed, he certainly didn't react to it openly. He was sure he's done the same thing at least once or twice in the past, anyway, and it was funny. "You're right, that's probably best in that case, then." He almost considered going straight home instead of going to Peter's, but he wasn't sure he was ready to deal with Sirius yet, even though he was in a much better mood after tonight. "Well, shall we part ways here, then? You'll be alright getting back, yeah? I can still go with you until you're inside," Remus offered, knowing Marlene could take care of herself but worrying anyway. It's just what he did. "If not, then I'll see you tomorrow for dinner," he smiled.
"Yeah, I think I can get there on my own, but thanks," Marlene nodded, keeping herself from rolling her eyes. She knew he was just trying to be nice, and considering the state of the world? They did sort of have just cause to worry about things like that. However, if Marlene was honestly at the point where she couldn't manage to get herself from where she was planning to Apparate on the Tonks' property and into the house, she was turning in her resignation and moving to Fuji. "Are you sure that you'll be alright getting back?" she asked, grinning, even though it was a fair enough question.
