Fabian looked up at Pepper, eyebrows raised. It was a moment before he spoke. His lips were taut. "Oh," was all he could say. He considered slamming the door in Pepper's face but decided he better not.
He backed into the house, gesturing for Pepper to follow him inside. He didn't need rumours spreading. He shut the door. "They read it, didn't they?" he sighed. He had feared this, but after so much silence he had thought perhaps he hadn't been caught. He hadn't been careful. His stomach turned a little as he looked upon Pepper warily.
