Severus Snape is tired of the lies. (fortiscadere) wrote in blurred_lines, @ 2008-09-05 22:07:00 |

Severus had spent the last week poking about, looking for the best way to actually get close to Dorcas Meadowes. What he'd discovered is that she fairly regularly left the Ministry, took Muggle transport towards St. Albans, and that was good enough so far as Severus was concerned. They could easily meet up with her after she left work and Side-along Apparate her to someplace less likely to attract attention. It would require quite a bit of stealth, but Severus knew which direction she was leaving the Ministry in, and he thought it would be easy enough to catch up with her, grab her from behind and Apparate. And if he did it a few blocks from the Ministry, it would be far less likely to be noticed by anyone - thankfully it seemed like most of the Ministry tended to Apparate or Floo to work, he thought. So, shortly after work Severus could be found on the corner, watching the visitors entrance that Dorcas seemed to come out every evening. He had pulled his a hood up over his head so that his face was hidden from view, but he peered around the corner waiting for Dorcas to make her appearance. He did not have his mask on yet, figuring that it would be more likely to garner attention from someone passing by than the hood. He would slip it on when Meadowes made her appearance and slip up behind her. He had also taken the opportunity to perform a disguising charm for his voice. He and Dorcas had gone to school together, and although they had not had much contact, it was still possible she might recognise his voice and he was not ready to have himself outed as a Death Eater just yet. Finally, it was Friday. It had been a long week for Dorcas in the Department of Mysteries, though a productive one -- they were making lots of headway on Moody's new eye, and it would probably be finished by next week. She was deep in thought, considering her work, its implications, and other things unrelated (at least directly) to Death Eaters. Though she knew that several Death Eaters worked at the Ministry (or, at least, could guess), she still felt as if it was a safe place, and she felt the same way about the Muggle transport she often used to get around. To begin with, it was familiar. And the likes of Lucius Malfoy and Rodolphus Lestrange weren't to be found on the bus or the underground. September was still somewhat warm, so she was only wearing a rainjacket and her Ministry robes as she came up from the visitor's entrance, her bag draped over her shoulder. She looked over her shoulder for a moment and saw Severus, but thought nothing of it. A light rain was falling, so his hood wasn't unusual. She put hers up and began heading for the nearest bus stop. Severus spotted her and slid his mask on quietly, falling into step behind her. He knew he had to reach her before she reached the bus stop. Thankfully the visitor entrance was on a quiet side street, and the bus stop was a few steps away. The falling rain didn't quite mask his steps, but it was some noise, and her hood meant that she'd be less likely to see him coming up behind her out of the corner of her eye. It was ideal, he thought to himself. He could not have planned the rain, but he was thankful for it - even if it were not particularly unusual for this week. He quickened his pace some and was able to pull up behind her so that he could reach out and grab her shoulder. Severus did so, reaching his hands out to her shoulders. Firmly grasping them, he immediately Apparated, his mind determined on the location that he had given Barty and Demetrius to meet him. With any luck they would be there with the anti-muggle charms already in place, so that they could go ahead with the 'lesson'. Severus was determined that this would go smoothly, that Rodolphus Lestrange would have no reason to doubt his abilities, and with any luck Meadowes would stop making nasty insinuations about him and various other purebloods - anymore it seemed as if it did not matter whether they were male or female. There were advantages to working in London, and Demetrius had arrived at the location Severus had specified just after work. He was lurking in the shadows of the alley, leaned up against a wall, just waiting. He wasn't entirely sure what the three of them would be doing- he didn't think they'd be killing Meadowes (sadly), and obviously they'd have to be careful. But Severus was always careful, as was Barty. While he wasn't, more often than not, this would probably go over smoothly. Just a matter of time, really. Meadowes would learn her lesson, that's for sure. |
