I am still in the hospital writing this but there is things that you should know as soon as possible. We won the war. One of our people killed the Dark Lord and there was a big fight against the last of his followers before we got the Ministry back. There will be a lot of work fixing all the damage that has been done but I do not think I will help, I am done with government now. But there are still some Death Eaters who got away including Marius Lestrange. We think he has gone to France with his wife but I think they'll just settle down and have a lot of pureblood brats and not be a danger to you anymore.

I wish I could end this letter now but you're probably wondering why I'm writing and not Jo. During the fighting she was with a close friend of ours. A Death Eater cast a spell that would have killed him and she took it instead. I've been told this several times but it's still hard to believe and I haven't seen her yet. It was only a few days before we would of been married for nine months. I don't know if I can go to the funeral. All I know is I want her cremated so I can keep her with me. I haven't seen our friend much either, I think he probably thinks I blame him, but she has done lots of stupid stuff before so it's pretty much in character for her. I always want to stop her but you must know how impossible that is sometimes. I would still like to meet you and tell you all about how she's been the last year if you would like. If I'm gone from the hospital etc when you come, track down Rufus Scrimgeour (he will probably be the Minister of Magic if anything makes sense anymore) and he should know how to contact me.
