We're all adults here and we don't need some list of things we shouldn't do. You know the basics. You know that godmodding isn't allowed. You know to keep OOC and IC separate. And it's just common courtesy to ask the other player for permission before you do anything involving their character.
I'm not putting a limit on the number of characters you can have either. I grew up writing in these kind of boards and I think that too many restrictions limit creativity. Some long list that you have to pretend to read before you join a board isn't going to hammer these ideals home if they aren't already there. So basically, just be courteous to your fellow player. We all just want to have fun so let's concentrate on that.
One thing I will ask is that you flip flop with the sex of your character. If you pick up a girl first, get a boy next. This keeps things even and fair for everyone so there isn't a PSL of just girls running around. [I think we've all seen that too often]. If you can do that, please read on to the premise. Any questions, comment to this post.
premise;
It's two thousand ten. Granada Hills, a small district located in the Fernando Valley region of Los Angeles, California is in shambles thanks to an attack amongst the supernatural creatures.
The rumblings started almost two years ago about an over anxious Master of City in Houston. The rumors swirled that he wanted to rise in power over more than one city. However, no one really took him seriously. The months passed and he developed a rather large following over the masses of vampires and lycanthropes. It started to reach to nearby cities and creatures of all sorts started to flock towards Houston to listen to the seductive words of the six hundred year old vampire.
The preternatural world wouldn't be prepared for what would happen next.
The massacre started January of two thousand and ten, the very moment celebratory bells rang in the new year. The vampire and his following started to wage a swift war on the cities around Houston, but they didn't waste any time moving westward. Along with a massive army of newborn vampires, they wrecked through dozens of cities, killing and maiming, changing and drinking from everything and everyone that crossed their paths. It would take months until the leader was finally destroyed and the masses disbanned (or dismembered). Granada Hills was the city that got the blunt end of the stick. Not only was their Master of the City killed, but so was the wolfpack's Ulfric, his girlfriend and much of the heirarchy.
While the vampires battle it out for their title, other creatures are forced to choose sides and find a way to build up their broken lives.
