Susan covered his hand again, and it felt heart-wrenchingly like forgiveness. Of course, this was just the illusion of forgiveness. It vanished with her words, and with the appearance of the orderly. This actually led to Susan moving away after the man left again after leaving behind some paperwork. "I do want to be here, Susan," he said quietly once the curtain was closed behind the three of them again. "This is just a lot to take in."
