Hermione just shook her head as Ron stole a piece of chicken. How he managed to eat so much and look like he still did, she had absolutely no idea.
Catching movement out of the corner of her eye, she gave a small shrug as Ron looked at her. It was his house, he should probably know the owls coming in and out of it. Setting her container down on the table, she turned to look at him curiously as he opened the letter. There were only so many reasons why you got an owl that late at night, and Hermione found herself wondering if it was news on what had happened to the five Aurors.
If it was, it wasn't good news, and her heart sped up at the look on Ron's face. As he handed her the letter, she scanned the contents quickly, picking up the key points and muttering a small "Oh." She was starting to think that Ginny had more than just overdone it with the flying, and felt like she should have paid more attention to her friend; forced her to go see someone about it a little earlier, before she ended up in St Mungo's.
Getting to her feet as Ron said he needed to go, Hermione picked up her work robes and her bag off the floor, doubting she would be coming back there. She'd stay the night at St Mungo's if they'd let her. "Come on," she said quietly, heading toward the fireplace.
